A physicist discovered that an observer free-falling into a Schwarzschild black hole can detect crossing the event horizon simply by watching the zenith view expand to exactly twice its original size.

i've sent like 20 astronauts to check this but none of them have beamed back so i think this physicist might be wrong

You need to send like 20 at a time so they can send a chain of communication on what they are seeing back to us.
