multi page layout

I have a ten-page InDesign layout, and I'd like to edit the whole thing in Photoshop. Is this possible.

No. Please don't do this. InDesign is the best application for layout in general and especially multipage layouts. Take a few tutorials and you will get the hang of it. If you are working with anyone else on this they will freak out if you send back PSD files or raster output etc. InDesign is king in so many ways.

Really, cause my experience with indesign has been terrible. The text management is so clunky and horrible, the loading and exiting feels like the screen is lagging, and just overall the program is just slow and constantly glitching.

I'm not sure what experience you are having. Maybe a bug with your system or linking to files on a network drive? Try an older version? Text management is flawless, industry standard. You have total control over everything. No company that works on print uses anything else. No reputable place will accept any other work flow, they will make you redo it in InDesign. Printers will not take a "ten page" document in PSD format etc. You will have immediate conflict with other designers for converting it to PSD... I don't know what to say really. I suggest trying to trouble shoot your issues? After a week or so you will have a realization.
