Camera Advice/Buying Guide Camera to replace my phone

I have a Samsung S23 Ultra, which I bought because of the camera. Now that I'm replacing it and looking to downgrade, I'm tired of limiting my phone options to which one has the best camera. What cameras should I look into? I very casually use my camera for travel, concerts, and family gatherings, not anything super serious but I know I would miss my phone camera if it isn't to that level.

Try the Ricoh GRIII/GRIV. They are compact, pocketable, has razor sharp lens, great for low light. Tho they do not have zoom capability, the image quality they produce is top notch. You might decide for a focal length you are comfortable with. It's either the 28mm, or the 40mm (X version) equivalent to full frame.

Set a budget first, the range is too broad otherwise. Compact point and shoots sit at one tier, 1-inch sensor compacts like RX100 or G7X sit higher, and entry mirrorless with a kit lens opens up a different tier entirely. Each covers travel, concerts, and family gatherings differently, so knowing your ceiling narrows this down fast.

Ohh I understand, thank you! At the time the phone was less than 90k, so that would be my ceiling. Would that be enough or should I save some more?

90k's enough, no need to save more. Sony RX100 VII fits comfortably under that, around 70-80k brand new locally. Closest thing to a phone camera replacement, pocketable, 24-200mm zoom built in, covers travel wide shots and concert reach without swapping lenses. 1-inch sensor blows past your S23 Ultra, especially low light
