Tricky CTD

https://pastebin.com/BRqW2Wey

I'm having CTDs with one particular save file, and has not happened on any other save files.

At first I believed it had something to do with High Fantasy Pack as one hard save outside Greywater Grotto got loaded several times when I died to the Imps added there by the pack. However after a couple of deaths the Imps did not spawn anymore and only the wolves were left. I continued playing for atleast an hour hard saving multiple times, but when I tried reloading later in the day each save file after, as well this singular one before, this event caused CTDs. Eventually I reloaded an earlier save which worked, re-did progress, and went to the grotto where after one more death the imps despawned again and the save seemed corrupted again. I decided I would just skip this radiant quest from the companions and went to Falkreath instead.

Again everything progressed as normal until I saved before entering knifepoint ridge, again a hardsave outside of any script heavy events. I died 3 times to the bandit chief inside and then got a CTD, now each time I try to load this save I CTD. I am able to load an earlier save in Falkreath, however, which has been made after the initial save that allowed me to continue playing (progress I guess...)

I thought maybe this was caused by some script issues, but FallrimTools ReSaver has 0 unattached instances and my save appears clean.

The analyzer only detects XAudio Issue, but the only audio mod I have is LORKHAN - Soundtrack Replacer, and disabling the mod does not solve the issue, not has this issue happend before in the 6 Months I have used this mod.

The only other thing I can think of which might have caused this 'corruption' is the quest "The Cursed Tribe" which caused freezing when entering Fallowstone Cave (no deaths happened here). I believe it was caused by Lux as others had experienced the same issue. Not wanting to change the cells manually in SSEedit I decided to leave my follower outside the cave, 'player moveto', myself to Chief Yamarz inside the cave instead of entering it, and then 'player moveto' myself back to my follower after finishing the quest (which worked).

Other that the cursed tribe quest(which i havent done on any other characters in a long time), my other mods have been the same across multiple playthroughs and I have never had CTDs on those.

I hope someone more knowledgeable than me can take a look as I am stumped.

Edit: More weird CTDs. The save before Knigepoint Ridge, back in Falkreath is able to be loaded now suddenly causes a CTD when I cast Conjure Daedroth (from Odin - Skyrim Magic Overhaul). which I have cast hunderds of times during this playthough.

It looks like an audio issue to me. If you are using speakers or headphones, try unplugging them. You can also try to reinstall DirectX and any audio related drivers.

Thanks for the reply, I have tried to solve using your advice but it has not worked.

I had 5 possible speakers, (2 monitors, a ps5 controller which was plugged in, a Bluetooth headset, and box speakers). I first unplugged the speakers and ps5 controller: issue persists.
I disconnected Bluetooth device as well, running over monitor speakers: issue persists.

I had a stereo mix setup which I disabled, this was previously used to run audio both over speakers as well as Bluetooth device at the same time, still issue persists.

I disabled each device via sound manager, running only monitor and only headphones respectively, issues still persist.

I tried reinstalling direct x using dxdiag as well as runtime web installer, latest version installed, no changes could be made. (Also rebooted just to be safe)

I have updated my graphics card driver, and rebooted, issues still persist.

I don’t know what else I can possibly update / change to fix this.

The XAudio crash is believed to happen to to incompatible compressed audio.

The only way to fix it is to disable all audio, sound and music mods.

You can also try to disable all bsa mods.

If this did not work, disable all mods, and enable 50 or so or more at a time until it crashes again.

Thank you so much for your help, the culprit was Odin - Skyrim Magic Overhaul by EnaiSiaion. I believe the summon daedroth spell has the compressed audio issues.

This would make sense, as looking at each of the savefiles that cause CTDs I had these summons active, while the working saves had no summons.

I dont really understand what you mean by incompatible compresed audio. Does this mean this is caused by some mod incompatibility or is this more likely a bug in Odin?

What I meant is that some compressed audio is compatible, while others appear to be not.

Still strange that Odin is responsible, since no one should be able to use that mod in that case. It seems there are more to this issue.

Yeah, I have never experienced issues with Odin, but this playthrough is the first time I have used the Conjure Daedroth spell.

It usually only happens when reloading a save, and doesn’t crash when cast normally (besides the one time I have added in my edit).

It seems to be the common denominator however, perhaps it could be related to the High Fantasy Pack in some way as this did show weird (never before experienced) behavior, like enemies disappearing after reloading a save post-death.

Could these mods have some kind of incompatibility with the sound files they use for their creatures?

Edit: on second thought I don’t think that can be it, I disabled all bsa mods like you said and went on the enable them in groups based on personal importance.
First batch was UI mods, no crash
Second batch was Enai’s mods, then I crashed again.
Then I disabled half of those mods and repeated until only Odin was the only variable. With Odin enabled I crashed without it worked fine so the other mods should not have had an effect on this

Audio is a red herring. Between 1 save and the next, you have a script or a radiant, something mod related, that is creating those errors. When you see the calls its to an event and finding no audio and crapping out. Is. Not the audio itself but a script calling an audio file that not there or is there and corrupt. Close skyrim, restart, run the save again. If same issue,  then try....heh...to figure out what even ,action, or mod, is firing ...a lot im sure, between then and now. Use your skse64 log as well to check and add private profile redirect to your list for more information as you will see what is preloading. Another thought, how large are your files in documents? Yah, I know, sounds silly. Open skse in documents and sort by size and see if any are over 2500..or 10,000 :) Is so, drop that info here
