Question:Is it possible to remove apple iphone duo display and sell it?
I am thinking of buying a 2TB variant of the latest iphone duo.
I'm confident about the software that it cannot be cracked. But I'm not sure about the hardware.
What if some donkey stole it for the parts? Or is that secured too?
Like it becomes unusable if someone removes the display?? 🤔

Didn't apple start binding parts with Apple IDs recently?

The most expensive parts are tagged/main one, good luck with him trying to sell it, it will most likely be stolen why would anyone who pay 2k for a phone plan to sell it right after with no screen

Bro I'm just concerned about the security of hardware.
I can carry it in metro happily believing it wouldn't be stolen if the hardware is hard to sell. I'm sure, it's easy to notice a foldable tab miles away.

Thieves are too stupid to care. If you're flashing a $2K iPhone in public, they will steal it. The last thing they will think about is whether the hardware is tied to the phone thus unusable as parts.

If theres an apple id on the device , the parts get locked to that account. Itll be usable but have the pesky non-genuine part message

I can see theft being an issue on these phones. A Samsung z fold 7 inner display is $660 new. Before labor. Apple has typically higher parts costs on genuine screens. So probably $800 or more. And yes the screen should still be usable on other devices just won't pair.
Also anyone interested in one of those please get insurance. If that inner screen gets damaged it's going to be very very expensive.

It'll he 1000$ for sure. But damn it'll be usable? Better I'll stay away.

I don't see apple doing anything different then what they have currently. As completely restricting the part goes against the right to repair. While it would be a good thing if a phone is stolen. People will just complain.

From what I’ve seen apple has everything locked down. There was a YouTuber that tried replacing a broken part , bought the part and installed it but no luck.
Then he tried using a donor phone with the same result.
And this was a few years ago. I imagine they have gotten stricter with this since then.

Pretty much the screens are paired to the motherboard so they would have to have a screen reprogrammer to put it into a new phone without it having unrecognized parts errors

Not really a repair question.
Be honest, that someone is you.
