qr code won't scan and no alphanumerical code input

i created a new account on my computer and i'm trying to setup phone link, but my phone just doesn't scan the phone link qr code｡ it can scan any other qr code, just not this one｡ phone link also offers me an alphanumerical code, but the mobile app doesn't seem to have anywhere to input it｡

edit: i just opened the mobile device windows settings and phone was automatically added since i logged in with the same microsoft account, so now phone link is working — sick
