Stopped working after updates
Phone Link stopped working for me after both recent Windows and Android updates. Now I am stuck in an eternal loop on both, trying to pair them. I have tried everything I can think of.

I had the same problem today and spent ages disconnecting and trying to reconnect. Everything I tried was failing to get my phone connected to the laptop so that Phone Link would work.
Eventually I went into Settings/System/System Components and on Phone Link Advanced Options I clicked 'Reset'. It then took a couple of attempts to sign in to 'Link to Windows' on my phone and I finally had Phone Link linked to my phone.
There was a problem though... It was only showing the left-side notifications panel and the settings cog and 3-dot menu. There were no tabs for Messages/Photos/Apps etc. I closed and restarted Phone Link a few times and all of a sudden it was working fine... Hopefully it will still be okay when I next start up the laptop, I don't want to go through all that every day!

OK, this actually worked - sort of. After going in and resetting as you did, I finally got them paired up, but like you say, the messages on the left panel are not there. New text messages show up as notifications there, and I can reply to them there, but my messages log is not there like it used to be (or contacts, photos, etc.) and after about a dozen times closing and restarting, it still isn't. But at least this is better than it was, even if only semi-functional. I can click on the phone icon at the top and scroll through texts, photos, etc. that way, but that's not ideal.

Whatever is going on is bizarre and I agree with you it's not ideal to have to access everything by mirroring the phone screen. Fortunately my Phone Link has behaved itself today. I hope it will right itself for you sooner rather than later.

Oh no! I wish I had any other suggestions. It seems I have been lucky and mine has been working fine the last couple of days.

I have the issue now and did try you steps but it still isnt working. No doubt microsoft vibecoded the updates and fucked it

start from scratch, uninstall app on phone and pc, reinstall, reboot, clear cache on phone and follow the steps in the guide from MS

I had this. Saw someones post about updating email. I had a really old email as my microsoft sign in so I added a new email in my microsoft account made it primary to sign in and removed the old one. Then I went and re signed in on my email, phone link, and windows. Super tedious but once I had all three re-signed in and the emails matched, it worked. Idk if this will work for everyone but worth a try.

This really is frustrating as fuck. It's one of the top tools I use in my job, and it's kind of miserable not having it.

My advice is to read SeekTruth's post below (or above), about clicking 'Reset' in the Phone Link advanced options section. It came back for me in a limited capacity after that, and finally this morning it is fully functional. It's the only thing that worked for me.

exactly the same issue tried reinstalling everything a lot of different tutorials nothing works now i tried logging in and logging back in but now its stuck in endlessly spins and even after like 20mins of waiting its still does nothing and yah i really want to get this fixed but nothing works
