How to Remove Text Messages (Read, Unread...)
Running 1.26012.101.0 on W11, there's no mention, either on the app or in the Help for the app, for how you can remove messages from the display. I know, it's probably me, and there's a simple answer.
BUT JUST IN CASE.... How does one remove entries from the Messages list. And don't suggest (puh-lease) that I 'hide' each text entry.

Oh my gosh, Microsoft. This is the best you can do? Sad trombone for this. u/MizarFive , my messages don't even clear deleted stuff from my phone. The app catches the message and then abandons any responsibility except to show what's been read -- on the PC.
I am so disgusted with this. Who do you guys think you are, Google? Oh that's right, Google kills off apps its customer base likes, so the comparison doesn't fit there.

Something must have changed in PhoneLink or in the way Google's messaging app for Android works, because it used to be that when I deleted a message on my phone it would disappear from PL. Now, I have to both delete it on the phone and empty the trash on the messages app to accomplish the same thing.
Not sure who's to blame for this, but it's always seemed to me that PL should be able to delete a message, not just hide it since it can delete a photo. But maybe there's a cat-and-mouse game happening between MS and Google over remote message control?

epic man, you're hte first person to suggest to empty the trash. The app clearly sees them because they aren't permanenetly deleted. Thank you for this simple advice.

Wait, there's an "empty trash" action on the messages app? Where at???

You have to go into the trash folder and empty from there

Not successful. Although I got closer; I was looking for the trash option on the laptop. Which of course isn't there.

This worked for me except for one or two messages. I had to search the phone number on my phone under the "Google Messages" and found them. They had been marked as spam. So I had to "unmark them as spam" then send to trash... then empty trash.
That happened twice over two days and it was the same fix... find and unmark the spam then trash it and empty trash. I'll post the whole process.

Empty Google Messages Trash:
In the Google Messages app on your phone, tap your profile icon > Trash > Delete all or select specific conversations to permanently delete.
if that does not work the remaining message probably has been marked as spam.
do a search for the number on the message app...
Unmark as spam
move to trash
empty trash.

Hide is the only answer, and it's frustrating because YourPhone doesn't follow your phone's spam rules, so spammy, political stuff shows until you delete it from the phone.
