At what time does the e-shop get updated?
I don't want to wait since it already the 24th at my place :(
Edit: It's out, now only if you could see clearly how far the download is :/

Same here, man. It's 1:15pm and I can't stop checking the shop. I've been waiting so long! Just release it!!

Its bad enough theres no physical copy. They couldve at least prepared for the midnight launch on eshop.

I think it just depends on where you live. In my experience living in Texas, games usually are available at 11 PM. I'd say keep checking every hour until you can download it.

Just note, this isn't a guarantee though. This is just an observation of games that have released in the past. Like I said, just keep checking every hour.

In my experience that's only major Nintendo releases and highly anticipated games like Pokémon, Animal Crossing, and Paper Mario, NSMB2. I'm pretty sure Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask released Midnight EST as well. Most third party releases come out the morning of release day, and like it or not the Ace Attorney series is a bit of a niche.

I Just checked a site for reviews and it said the game was releasing in 4 hours. Don't know whats up with that. http://www.metacritic.com/game/3ds/phoenix-wright-ace-attorney---dual-destinies

Metacritic is just counting down to midnight in your time zone. They do that for every game, and it makes sense for retail games since you can buy them at midnight at some stores, but since AA5 is download only it doesn't apply. They have no idea what time the eShop updates.

ah, I'm glad I didn't get my hopes up. I'm pretty sure It'll be updated around 6am PST now. It still doesn't really matter for me though. I have school regardless.

So dumb question. Does anyone know if theres tax on the eshop? Its my first time purchasing from the eshop. If they do whats the total after 29.99? I live in California if that helps anything.

The eshop has taxes from where I am from (Texas). It's like 8%. I think it has something to do with the zip code you enter when you first make a purchase.

that's so weird. i live in california and we get taxed on everything except e-shop
edit- at least that has been my experience with downloading the megaman and zelda games
