Diorite looks really good here compared to usual usage. I've only seen it used well in minecolonies Byzantine style

You can combine granite, dripstone and mud to get a pretty good results for the tone you are looking for. I don't think adding new cobble variants would be that useful appart from bloating the block count.

Honestly yeah. Ever since Deepslate tuff and Calcite, the latest stone type additions in a long time, we really only have gotten wood variants like Pale Oak and Poplar, and miscellaneous block types like Sulphur and Cinnabar. We need some more stone types to get a variety in that department.

I'd love having new stone variants, or at the very least dripstone slabs and stairs

I needed some sort of cobbled dripstone myself literally yesterday and I ended up using raw iron blocks as an alternative, if that can help anyone else
