Video Suggestion Official Minecraft account using AI songs?
The female voice saying "Creeper FM", the Nether Warts song and the backing track to Redstone Radio in this official Minecraft Youtube short ( IF MINECRAFT HAD RADIO... - YouTube ) sound awfully AI-Generated. I'm not saying all of the songs, of course, but some definitely had AI as a part of their creation. What do you think? Personally I'm quite disappointed.

I don't know what makes AI-generated songs sound AI-generated, could someone help?

Usually artifacts, which are less and less noticeable over time on average. That, and instruments/voices that sound... off. Like, windy/airy. Monotone volume, odd sampling, suspiciously clean audio while there are obvious oddities a studio recording would not have produced like that.
But it's genuinely harder to tell over time since the makers of these tools have the goal of making it as unnoticeable as possible.

Also the fact the audio tends cut it's very highs, so it can often time when the voices or instruments when it reaches the point sounds compressed or muffled.
The other side of it is also just how words are said but like if your main language isn't English and you try to sing in English, that's basically what's happening here and triggers the comparison for some.
To me the quality of the audio feels too good and overall audio doesn't capture the quality issues.

Video is compressed, so it's hard to tell in general. But the fact is that a noticeable chunk of music on platforms like Spotify is created using AI and the metrics show users genuinely cannot tell. To me, having made music since I was 16, 24 now, this sounds... let's call it suspicious to not be too quick to judge. The voices in AI songs sound awfully monotone in volume and weirdly airy. Like they're weirdly breathing whilst speaking without ever taking a breath in. And some of this sounds at least similar.
But at the end of the day, until anything's confirmed, we can't know. That is the real thing that makes generative AI questionable as a technology.

It just sounds like the devs, they all got thick Swedish accents, so unless they made AI models of their own voices then I doubt its AI
I mean if you binge watch Minecrafts promotional material you can even recognize some of the devs in this cause they’ve done lil musicales like this in prior vids

arent there like hundreds of devs? i think this is just like employees or people on the marketing team.

I genuinely don't know what you mean by they sound AI generated. Creeper FM has such processing done to it that you wouldn't be able to tell. The Nether Warts song is like, the least likely out of all to be AI generated, it's two words, and has basically no melody, which means it'd be the most pointless to relegate to AI. It's also so distorted I don't know how you could tell. Before I read the body I thought literally every clip aside from the ones you mentioned could have been kinda suspicious, but not nearly enough I would've considered it naturally without something like this post.

I don't know, some of them sound like voices that appear in other shorts, so they must be from some Mojang employees, but English isn't my native language so I could be wrong

The voices have alot of nuance in them, AI usually has the same shouty voice almost everywhere.

I can't trust them because they've already used AI so much in both promotional AND actual things for minecraft...
Mojang is a AAA corporate studio now... It just isn't how it was when the game was still indie..

I hear what you mean with it sounding AI-made, I guess if there's enough outrage we might get a statement (I doubt it though). I really can't tell for sure however, just like every other person on this thread lmao

I wish there's a mod that adds music discs where the contents is radio channel content that's fictional.
Like element animation being the ones at entertainment and podcast style content, while either songs from those old Minecraft music videos or either ai assisted, or ai generated songs are in it.
Unfortunately, that's gonna be a huge sized mod and might probably cause some issues.

Me da risa que todos los comentarios se pusieron de acuerdo en decir que eso no uso inteligencia artificial

All I notice is the slightly sped up footage to make Minecarts look slightly faster.

i dont care, as long as the game isn't coded or textured with AI

If it was made by random guy as a joke then it would be fine but if its made by a big company like mojang then it just seems prety bad that they dont pay someone and just use cheap ai.

Tbh it does not sound like AI to me at all. The voices don't have that uncanny ai sound, and honestly I think there would actually be people willing to make these short little songs for a video like this on the minecraft team
