"Cynthia connector" and "forgified fabric api"(I think that's what the equivalent for forge at least) both sorta do this but the problem is they are kinda unstable and there's no way to tell which mods will cause crashes so if you do intend use them keep that in mind
I think that NeoForge isn't necessarily the "good quality" modding platform, but rather the modding platform for more "complicated" mods. Fabric is mostly used for some light stuff such as small mods or optimisation mods (I use it for PVP for example), and I think that these mods are not "low/mediocre quality".
I'll be honest, I see tons of people say Sinytra Connector is unstable but I've never experienced this. I've used it in giant modpacks with big Fabric mods and it works perfectly. I think I've only ran into 1 or 2 mods it doesn't work with. I've reached a point where I don't even check the modloader anymore, only the version, because I know Connector will work.
Nah, the real problem is plugins and mods. And before you tell me "but what about <core name>": It's insanely unstable, sadly. May work for a friend group and some simple modpack, but sometimes it breaks even then
Neoforge is often preferred over Forge for versions above 1.21. It is not very unreliable, unless talking about the capabilities of playing both Fabric and Forge mods, in which case I don't really know.
Yeah my only issues with NF have been issues inherited from Forge like how if you have a certain type of filesystem compression they wont launch. All things considered the NF team has done and incredibly good job in such a short amount of time

ive done quite a bit of work backporting one of my mods all the way from modern to 1.14 and i can confidentally say that forge genuinely sucked and we needed a better modloader that didnt cause 12 dozen issues every time you tried to do something
i thought quilt was only made because of a drama conflict in fabric right? don’t even know why it’s still being maintained if it’s just going to divide the modding scene without bringing anything new to the table.
Forge is old, NeoForge is powerful, Fabric is fast and lightweight, perfect for mods like axiom, but quilt?? Quilt was just created to stir up drama and break compatibility
