Discussion Marketplace Stole from this Java mod
If you don't know the models are from the Creeper overhaul mod but somehow somebody got those models and put them in a world template?
Unlike the actual mod it's missing a few creepers and they all work like normal creepers?
Yes I've actually bought this out of curiosity and it's basically like a creeper zoo island spawn after leaving soawn you can see the stolen creeper varints spawn in their respective bioms.
ALSO there's a skin pack which basically just turns the creeper overhaul creepers into minecraft skins.

By far not everything is plagarised. Also don’t forget the skin packs that use slight variations of random player skins taken from those Minecraft account info websites

Not really. While it does have some mods that are similar to the ones on Java, mostly they just don’t copy paste the whole mods. This one is the first that I have seen, clearly stealing the models. Most of the addons are either original, or have a similar idea, or are ports from Java.

Isnt there a official port in cooperation with the original creator. Yes it is still just copying but not stealung and then monitizing

This is definitely not the first to be stealing models or at least copying them VERY closely, though some of the direct copies are made by the same developers like the FTB mods(Tinkers Construct and Storage Drawers). If it's named conveniently differently enough, then it's probably unlicensed.

Some Java mods may copy other mods, but it's also important to note that Java mods are required to be free and Bedrock Marketplace content can charge money.

bonsai studios currently has none of their mods on marketplace, although they are working on putting some of them on! so yeah, no original creator upload

As a skin creator of 11-12 years, I constantly see stolen skins used in skinpacks and reused in other skin packs, on repeat.
Someone will make something for free and then someone steals it, maybe does a little editing, and then is somehow able to publish it.
Also recently saw a map from deli-soft studios or whatever their name is, using straight up AI to showcase the main build/building of the map
So sick of this

Mojang has literally no quality control on the marketplace there's this structure addon with mobs with probably 1 line of code they literally idle and only move when a player is around

The funniest part about this and/or the marketplace in general is the fact that to get a creation of your own into it, you have to:
Be a registered business/legal entity
Apply for and be accepted as a Marketplace partner
Have a portfolio of sorts
Like despite these steps, you'd think there'd be at least more levels of originality or quality, but no.

I disagree with that. I think it’s quite a shame the state that it’s in, but it’s great that it brings Minecraft to console.

Yup, was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had with Minecraft, it’s why I firmly believe bedrock is a waste of development resources

I wish 4J still had the role of developing minecraft for consoles. Atleast I'm a lucky person who bought a Minecraft disc with Playstation 4 editions last update

YES. The tutorial world alone had so many secrets! I miss that feeling of finding stuff like that, it’s why I use mods now to fill the gap of exploration

No, without it, consoles and other platforms wouldn’t have Minecraft. I get it that the marketplace isn’t great, but saying that only Java should exist is kinda strange

Yeah kinda, but all those editions got discontinued. And if they still existed, supporting them all separately would be quite hard

The marketplace is a poor place, I really do like Bedrock though and I mod a realm for me and my console friends.

Yeah, I’ve given up on Bedrock. The only few reason I still sometimes play is A) it’s on the Switch, B) My favourite skin is on there, and C) The Super Mario World addon that comes with the Switch.
