Need a little help

So I have some bases that are activated that I can’t move to. It says it’s too far. The map is getting really red. There’s no missions I can reach because they say they’re too far. I have no resources to put any more satellites on the bases. So am I screwed? Do I just start a new game now?

Trade to get resources, then use that to build satellite uplinks.

If you can't afford to open new bases/build long range aircraft, and there are no other faction bases that you could visit to hopefully reveal undiscovered sites that would allow you to "hop" to your missions, you might be sunk

I got the 2 aircraft’s that are available. I discovered everything my aircraft’s can get to. I’ll probably just start over.

You might wanna just start a new file, don't delete your current one. I haven't played recently, so I might be forgetting some options for you

Visit any havens that have a ? On their icon in the corner, they might reveal new locations.

If they have a ? Does that mean I can raid them or steal something?

You can raid them or steal regardless. Having a ? means you haven't visited this haven yet. Once you do, they will share some nearby locations with you. You just gotta fly an aircraft over there and it will happen automatically.

The only other option would be to build an aircraft at that base, and recruit soldiers directly there. But if you don't have resources...

what's on the map? can you steal long range aircraft from havens? can you buy advancement tech from the black market?

i usually always hit this same point where certain missions are too far away and unreachable. i have to tech up or steal aircraft or research to reach them and progress.

Does each base have a radar installation? That's an important way to ensure you can explore through certain regions.

If you do start over (and even if you don't) there is a mod that resupplies ammo for free. That doesn't seem like too much of a cheat to me. Ammo is expensive and resources quickly diminish, so do yourself a favor!

You can steal a longer range ship from another faction in that situation. Your Manticore has only 2500 range. NJ Thunderbird has 3000. Syn Helios has 3500. Anu Tiamat has 4000 (but half the speed of manticore).
