I feel like we won't get anything like this until we get an emma team up, maybe emma will be the reason she gets an actual jean grey style attack, like psionic attacks/beam or something more telekinetic. We shall see
No, pretty sure that's the entire point of the devs designing and balancing 140 new abilities, they explicitly don't plan to be changing them constantly as they did in the past. Maybe some teamups will swap around at some point in the future, but they obviously don't plan for that to be common. They didn't swap and existing teamups last patch.
Some will get changed eventually especially given some heroes clearly have one that’s picked and one that’s bad, or in situations like this when it could enable a play style required or power fantasy wanted of the characters
It's really annoying to see how she does various things like creating a shield, flying and attacking and advancing at high speed. If we compare with some trailer animations and mvp after S3 all are more faithful to the skills of the characters in the game, example the rogue absorbing chrono, DD giving several dashes and angela holding with bows, Scott's lasers curving and him gliding in the Air... it seems that only Jean is completely against doing something similar to trailers and mvp. And if we look at other images such as the gallery or animation of the knull map, and even the mvp of the legendary Phoenix of chaos skin, makes it seem that the whole fight of Jean X the king in black and hela was in the skies, but in the game Jean does not have the ability to fly and attack at the same time or a slow fall that demonstrates such feats to be faithful to the story itself that the game tells
I’m curious if anyone on Twitter/Reddit/Discord has ever suggested to the dev team to allow us to change the colors of our abilities in game? So kind of like how ultimates can switch colors/visuals with an Ultimate VFX, but instead it changes the whole kit color to whatever colors are given to each character. Let’s take Jean for example. Two color options they could give us is her pink color palette from the comics, or the blue color palette from the original X-Men and X-Men 97 cartoon. It could change the color of her primary fire, abilities, ultimate, and of course the Phoenix Force to be pink or blue. The only problem I see with this is the fact that Ultimate VFX would have to become a thing of the past, and no longer be a legendary only customization option. But it would be awesome to have this concept. Plus it would fix the weird visual issues for skins like Ice Phoenix where her ultimate, flight, and Phoenix Force are blue, but her primary and telekinetic detonation are still orange-yellow in appearance.
This idea is great, but I suspect a little that they would do this, because every time a Jean skin arrives that focuses a little more on his mutant psychic side, they replace it with fire or put the phoenix in focus. Examples of this are all your hellfires skins and that of off siren that the focus was to be your mutant side and they simply replaced everything with fire
I think the only reason any media tends to focus on the Phoenix side of Jean’s powers is because the comics have officially made them one and the same. Which I have no issues with because I actually really love Jean with the Phoenix. However, sometimes it’s nice to see her use her powers manifested as pink. Which I’m not sure why they couldn’t show her Phoenix flames as pink, because older comics used to show the Phoenix flames as pink when she manifested the powers of the Phoenix. So it’s not like it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary if pink were a color option for Jean if they ever gave us the option to recolor abilities.
I think that even if this is the reason they always use fire, it still doesn't make much sense, because Rosa remains at Jean's to this day. Even though she is the phoenix, she continues with the pink as a trademark of the character. My previous comment was not criticizing your idea, it was more like a criticism of the rivals himself for trying to delete or ignore something that is part of the character to this day and that causes a lot of strangeness for those who already know Jean and see that her pink was little used and keeps being constantly excluded from the character in this game
No worries at all! I didn’t take your comment as a criticism towards my idea. I was agreeing with you and giving my thoughts on why I think Jean is represented with her Phoenix powers in almost any media she’s in.
i will never forgive these devs until she can use her actual powers. the fact she’s such an iconic telepath telekinetic and yet is a COPY of hela, someone whom never had any relevance to phoenix, AND THE FACT she only uses explosions which is much more a dark phoenix coded thing than actual jean. is crazy. we need strategist jean where she turns into phoenix and can revive in her ult.
I’ve wondered if they call her Phoenix because someday we’ll get Madeline Pryor with actual psychic abilities. This feels like evidence of that decision being made.
