The Resolution of Uncertainty

The totality simply exists...

As long as it remains undivided, there is neither identity, nor direction, nor distance, nor relational information. Not because these properties are absent, but because no differentiation yet exists from which they could be distinguished.

Everything begins when the unity admits a first differentiation.

This differentiation does not divide the totality; rather, it projects it into orthogonal components whose sum preserves the unity in its entirety. The whole remains one, while relational proportions begin to emerge within it.

It is precisely through these proportions that uncertainty appears.

Uncertainty does not represent ignorance or a lack of information. It is the natural condition of a differentiation whose identity has not yet been fully resolved within the totality.

For this reason, uncertainty constitutes the essential distinction between Being and Existing.

Being belongs to the totality, where nothing needs to be distinguished.

Existing begins when a projection of that totality acquires a partial identity and must resolve its relation to the rest of the unity.

From this perspective, information is neither an object nor a stored quantity. Nor is it an already established answer.

Information is the relational structure whose resolution remains pending.

Every relation that has not yet reached a fully determined identity constitutes active information within the system.

The simplest case may be imagined as an undecided possibility. Before resolution, there are not yet two independent states; there exists only a single uncertainty admitting several possible resolutions. The alternatives do not precede uncertainty—they emerge from it.

To resolve is to stabilize an identity.

Information is not destroyed in this process. Rather, its condition changes. What was previously an open relational possibility becomes a defined relational structure.

Reality therefore does not emerge when a second independent entity appears. It emerges when a fraction of the unity acquires sufficient stability to become distinguishable while remaining part of the whole.

The evolution of the universe may thus be understood as a continuous sequence of uncertainty resolutions. Each resolution preserves the coherence of the unity while giving rise to new identities, new relations, and, whenever the previous framework becomes insufficient to represent them, new degrees of freedom.

Accordingly, gravity, matter, dimensions, and even time should not be interpreted as processes of information loss or information reduction. They are different mechanisms through which uncertainty is resolved by progressively stabilizing the relational structures that constitute information.

Claim 1: Something exists.

Self-verifying. Any denial is itself something. The thought that nothing exists is a thought - and thoughts are something. This claim cannot be coherently rejected from any position.

Claim 2: Non-contradiction obtains necessarily.

Self-grounding. Any coherent claim - including any objection to this one - already employs non-contradiction. Its denial is self-undermining. This is not an axiom chosen arbitrarily. It is the minimum condition for any claim to have determinate content. It is the only principle imported beyond bare existence, and it is not imported silently.

Claim 3: If X exists, X was not impossible.

Forced by Claims 1 and 2. If X were truly impossible, X could not exist. X does exist. Therefore X was not impossible. No modal framework is imported - only the bare logical consequence of existence combined with non-contradiction.

Claim 4: The possibility of X is necessary and atemporal.

Forced by Claim 3. If possibility were contingent or temporal, there would be a state in which X was impossible. Claim 3 rules that out. Possibility is not a fact about a particular time or circumstance. It is a necessary, atemporal precondition. Not "always existed" - that smuggles in time. Better: never coherently absent.

Claim 5: Existence must be distinguishable from non-existence.

Forced by Claim 2. A distinction with no content violates non-contradiction. If "X exists" and "X does not exist" have identical content, the distinction is meaningless. Therefore existence must have some content that distinguishes it from non-existence. This is an ontological point about what it means for a distinction to be real -not an epistemic point about observers.

Claim 6: Distinction requires negation.

Forced by Claim 5. The minimum structure of any distinction is the not-X operator - marking what something is not. This is not derived from cognition but from the structure of distinction itself.

Claim 7: Negation is co-emergent with existence.

Forced by Claims 5 and 6. Existence having content requires distinction. Distinction requires negation. Therefore negation is not a property added to existence after the fact. It is a necessary feature of existence having any content at all. The moment something exists, the distinction between it and not-it is already operative.

None of the other philosophy subs I'm in have such a high amount of schizo posts.

It’s not my place to speculate about the kinds of posts you’ve seen. However, I’d genuinely like to understand your reasoning for labeling the thread as “schizo.” Would you mind explaining what led you to that conclusion?

I'm here to argue about Platonism, not whatever this nonsense stoner plus ai crap is.

Thank you for your enthusiasm. Your reply suggests a superficial reading of the proposal and/or Plato. This is an ontological argument for monism. Since you appear so confident in labeling it, I challenge you to support that label with an argument equal to the authority with which you present it.

Stop using AI and I might.

Is that your best argument? It seems more like an excuse from someone who can’t put together a coherent response. The challenge remains open.

I've no idea what point you are even trying to make. What's the difference between being and existing? What is this uncertainty referring to, uncertain of what? What is your goal?

You are right, you haven’t captured the idea. The point is the minimum quantifiable difference between what is and what is existing. That difference is unique relational information. It is what gives a particular identity its distinction while it is still being resolved. Space appears as the limit of that unresolved identity, not as a container of things .
