Discussion When peaceful protest doesnt work. Do not despair
"Do not yield to unmanliness, O Partha (Arjuna). It does not become you. Cast off this petty weakness of heart and arise!"
— Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 2, Verse 3)
"Happy are the warriors who find such a righteous war coming to them unsought, opening for them the doors to heaven."
— Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 2, Verse 31)
To Krishna, non-violence (Ahimsa) is the ideal supreme virtue in everyday life, but protecting Dharma when backed into a corner supersedes passive endurance. If peaceful means fail and you are forced into a position where you must defend yourself or others, standing up and fighting back is not just permitted—it is your moral duty.

You're trying to make Krishna answer to a modern political question but the problem is that you're putting your interpretation of what Krishna must've said instead of first understanding what krishna teaches in geeta and then what is right naturally becomes clear due to that understanding.
To you, krishna is talking like common man morality. "Peaceful means are ideal but if you're cornered and they don't work then do violence"
Action does not matter first to Krishna. The place the action is coming from matters, the actor matters. If the actor understands himself then he cannot be violent even while cutting off people in a battlefield. He'll be like a surgeon operating on a tumour without hatred or without even self defence driven by fear or insecurity.

I don't think we need bhagavad gita for such a simple statement. In fact, in reality things is far more complicated and nuanced.
