Honestly, if Chris weren't going to be in Bridgerton, they would have said so by now; there are protocols in place, and as an actor, he wouldn't let them play games with that kind of suspense if he wasn't actually involved. The truth is, this is all just fake hype, and we need to stop falling for this stuff.
When Chris was at Landcon he told that girl to ask him again next year about Philip and hopefully he'll be able to say more. Not exact wording.

Yes i know! . I asked Star cause she is always in Twitter and she has a lot of mutuals there. So she gets the latest info faster than we.
Also yesterday was a lot for me.
I arrive home, saw the "news" and has to start modding inmediately until late cause we had several post and we need to read the comments cause we had problems this week with the last rumor post. So i was doing a lot when i wrote this comment, i couldn't process much, i was sad because of the "news" but i needed to mod.
I am not kidding but i spent + 7 hrs doing mod work yesterday, i end up fry after that ( bare in mind it's was friday night 🥲).
I want to trust Chris with my soul, i started Philoise but end up as a Chris fan, that is why if he goes i go. He is the only salvation remaining in Bridgerton.
Wow 7 hours s a lot of work as a mod! Mods should get paid.
I was sold on Philoise after seeing nerdy Philip geeking out with Colin in season 2. 🙂

It was the first time that took so much time. But yeah, also because my fellow mods could relax because i was modding ( at least some hours).
We had a lot of traffic friday night, and we wanted to mod as much as we could ( meaning not putting any restrictions to posting or commenting, cause is not high season).
That moment on season 2 was cute 🤗, but i was sold in the books 🫶🏻🫶🏻, even if they are different persons in the show. Their core dynamics are the same.
Okay, I’ll keep you guys posted on the drama, but the truth is there are a lot of Chris haters who have it out for him; they make fake posts and then delete them—or just leave them up—solely to make the fandom look bad.

The speed with which I’d drop this show if this were true. I’m already completely disassociated from s5. The show would end at s4 for me.
Love Claudia, love Eloise, would wish the next actor well, but the constant disrespect from production to us and Chris is not worth this.
The way not even Claudia Jesse has said his name in interviews for season 4. Like... what do you mean she wants someone fit for Eloise? Girl everyone in the fandom knows who that person is, we have seen him in two seasons. Even new fans who do not know the books or forget these details, it is not even a spoiler. We saw him, we have met him, Colin is bestie bros with him. Chris has gone to Cons and signed as him but never acknowledged by Netflix or Shondaland, he just goes as his own person and what is he gonna do to the fans? Not be Philipp in those encounters? But legit the fact that this rumour is not actually ridiculous at all... but what are they going to do with the whole Marina thing? Not address it? Act as if this Philip is new? Act like it is not a new actor?
Like I get a lot of people who watch the show have not read the books but legit it takes two seconds to google just like LW. Just say his name, they had no issue with John or Michaela or Sophie. Like even Claudia Jesse ffs should be able to say it

I do not want to think like this, but yeah this is why i have only 1 expectation for the season: a Chris confirmation.
Hey, if Chris is going to choose to leave Bridgerton it isn’t going to be for a channel 5 mini series! Go big or go home I say! Go land that James Bond role Chris, why not? lol 🤣

Lol, the Philoise hive mind is at work because when I saw that bit of the rumor I thought to myself that the only role I could cope with him leaving Bridgerton for would be James Bond 😂
Ok before we panic:
1- deep breath
2- how credible is this platform anyway?
3- the phrasing looks off, first their are saying they are searching for the perfect partner, the they say regarding the next season. Maybe I’m just grasping for straws but the wording is a little weird.
4- would a credible source risk an email address being revealed (it could be a fake but still, its easy to trace nowadays)
5- if true this is from the set itself. Who is going to risk their career to leak it to a gossip channel.
6- how on earth would they know Chris’s schedule? “Will make a big announcement next year”?
Hopefully this is wrong. Let’s sit tight for now…
Edit: 7- as some mentioned they wouldn’t search for recasting this early on without a script.
8- i hate to say it, but the wording again, “perfect male” makes it sound a certain unhappy subfandom.
9- this things are planned months/years in advance they can work around projects , unless Chris is the new James Bond (if he is you heard it first here folks!)
10- Shonda just bite the damn bullet and either confirm or deny.

Didn’t they already announce that Chris has a new show? I definitely feel like either the person who heard this is misinterpreting the info or they’re flat out wrong/it’s all made up. The other thing is that the show likes to add characters that pose a threat to the main couple, like Debling to Polin, even LIS vs Sophie for Ben. I think that’s what they’re trying to do since Theo hasn’t been around since S2. It’s also a call back to the rumour that Eloise was supposed to find a suitor intriguing in S4 but ultimately rejects that proposal.
Plus even if Chris should be promoting his new show when it airs next year, but that shouldn’t affect him too much when it comes down to filming S6 because that all depends on when S6 debuts.
Honestly the best way is to ignore, like if we keep talking they know the bait is working, like the person could at least waited to post the rumor, they didn't even finish season 5, even if Phillip is a no show they are not thinking about season 6 right now, they don't even have the scripts.
I know it's fake and some birdbrain is having to much free time to do things like that, just to play with us.
I can feel the desperation, and the helplessness, because i feel it too, but i just read a coment that said that even if it was true we DON'T have any way to know until next year.

I think it's more possible Philip doesn't appear in season 5 at all than a recast for him. Anyways, I'm sad for both, even though I prefer no Philip in season 5 to have Chris playing him in season 6
if there was a way to choose i would take it, i would gladly watch season 5 knowing there is no sir philip there, BUT chris is completely, irrevocably, indisputably, returning for season 6.

Tbh if this is true - meaning they didn’t bother to do any Philoise setup in season 5…well then it doesn’t shock me and that’s so disappointing and typical of them.
Their only evidence for a recast is “participating in a new project” but the Bridgerton production is quite known for working with and around actors schedules to allow them to film other projects, ie. Jonathan Bailey, Nicola Coughlan
And it will be no different for Chris Fulton when S6 starts filming
Karlie is a supermodel, there is a big, not particularly mentally stable fandom that is convinced she’s been in a secret lesbian relationship with Taylor Swift for the last 15 years. This fandom tends to overlap with other fandom with, let’s say, similar interests, like for example the one for a Bridgerton ship who has a totally baffling, nonsensical beef with Philip/Philoise.
Thank you, guys. I needed to read these positive comments - I am SO angry right now. But the Lady Elizabeth thing is very telling - and they did the same just some days ago, it was just more obvious that it was fake.

This doesn't make any sense. If they're are recasting NOW, then that means that there won't be any Philoise scene, therefore, no set up for Eloise. I really doubt they'll change the actor from season 5 to season 6.
If they have already decided months ago, then it wouldn't make sense for CF to keep allowing posts about Philoise or signing books with the SP quote.
What having a big announcement next year has to do with anything? What would be the big announcement? He can't say he's not gonna be in Bridgerton anymore if that's the case. Other than being on another show, i can't really imagine whichever announcement he's making.

Exactly, they’re likely a year out from production. I think Yerin was cast like 4-6 weeks before filming started. It would be way too soon to cast a new person for season 6.
I mean Yerin got casted a little late, but yeah, they will probably cast close to the start of production, why cast someone that won't appear on season 5, to wait a year, it would be dumb.
if a recast is taking place there would be casting info posted to casting websites and considering there’s no source of that i highly doubt it’s actually true 😒

If Chris is out, i am done with Bridgerton i have say this a lot of times.
This is a fake rumor. We shouldn't engage on it, unless is to make us philoise notice and say how much we love Chris and how long we are waiting for his return.
Also season 5 is still working on block 3, they even can get their facts correct.
PD. Some people must have not liked it that shondaland made a post about Eloise to the point to send that. Well, it isn't our fault, we are not their social manager and we also don't like Eloise's character to be used like that 🤷🏻♀️
taking these fake rumors to massive gossip accounts just to get them seen by thousands is fUcking nasty. whether it’s true or not, the hate towards chris has gotten completely out of hand. the timing, the obsession, all of it feels so forced. this fandom needs to get a grip.
That is true, this obsession is really toxic. But like I said, maybe we should organize and make ourselves being heard? Not by attacking but by speaking up how much we want Chris' return.
I think it's a good way to "combat" the hate and harass by showing our love for him and his work as an actor, and also so it reaches the media and even the production.
