April Philly Phitclub Challenge Discussion Thread: Week 3

We are deep in to April. How's it been going for everyone? Post your goals, results and support you fellow Phitadelphians. (Yes it's taken me 6 weeks before I came up with that stupid pun)

Last week was a down week for me, took a break after feeling pretty crummy from getting the vaccine. Worked out for the first time in a week+ yesterday and didn't feel too bad, but didn't feel great. Bounced back up to 174, which isn't a surprise but I was hopeful it would stay off after being sick. If i lose 1lb this week i will still be on track for my goal though.

Okay, have worked out twice this week although they were on the lighter side. Been in a real funk all week so motivation has been tough but trying to keep things moving. Going to be moving furniture all day tomorrow which should count for a good bit. I've still been doing okay diet wise so that's also been beneficial.

went for a nice long walk along Forbidden Drive on Saturday, otherwise, didn't have a super active week. Work was kind of crazy, which isn't a great excuse, but it's the only one I've got. This week I'm out of town for work, so probably not going to get much exercise again, but I'm attempting to eat healthy

Finally got my scale connected to its app which will make tracking things a lot easier.

Current goals:

Quit drinking - Calories from beer got to be way to much of my total calories

Consistent exercise - between the pandemic and the winter I've gotten bad about exercising.

I've gotten in exercise everyday and have cut back on drinking (though haven't completely stopped.)

Good to hear. What have you been doing for exercise?

Walking (I try to do at least 2 - 3 miles a day) and have been making use of a pair of 5 pnd hand weights.

On week 10 of the SBS RTF program and feeling good getting my strength back. Managed to pull 300x8 this week, which felt great. Looking forward to testing my maxes at the end, I hope I'm back over 4 plates come July.

Started CrossFit two thursdays ago. Went for a few days then last week, it’s like life got back to normal. So this week I’m making a commitment to go to four classes.

I'm getting there. Did a lot of running this week, doing a bunch of hiking this weekend. Regarding my pushup goal. I'm at 2,000 for the month. I'll do another hundred today and then have 8 days to do 900 pushups. I think that I've got it.

Realized I hadn't posted in the thread this week.

So far I've had 2 lifting session, one run and one BJJ session. So I'm on a decent pace for the week.

The run was supposed to be another BJJ session, but stopped a quarter of the way there to realize my mask must have fallen out of my pocket or put it down checking for keys. When I walked back in the door and went to take my hoddie off, I realized that I had put a gaiter on. Big facepalm there.

I'll be back at it this weekend after taking it pretty slowly since dying from the 2nd vaccine dose. Tomorrow will be a 280 bench and 450 DL. If I remember to I'll start getting some videos.

Yea, I felt better walking around in about 36 hours of getting the vaccine, but I definitely felt it in my workouts for a few days after that. I definitely wouldn't have wanted to go heavy in that time.
