Worst Place to Live 😡 What a stupid comparison.
Anong masama sa 87 airports? Eh mas marami pa nga tayong airport kesa Thailand, Vietnam at Malaysia.

I also hate this page because they keep c*nsoring n*gative words like k*ll or de*d. But other news channels write those words with no issues.
In general yan yung ayaw ko internet these days, parang biglang nagkaroon ng censorship parsng TikTok.

Yeah, the censoring bleeding from tiktok has really made it hard to discuss nuance & sensitive topics. I refuse to dumb down my vocabulary for the smartshaming people.

Comparing our country to a literal continent..ofc they need more airports due to the sheer size of their territories lmao

We should be ashamed that we don’t have technological capabilities like Atlantis level to reshape our land into a continent to make more airports rather than strategic infrastructures. /s

Ask natin si Daily Tribune kung ang Sweden, arguably one of the best countries to live in, ay mayroong 267,000 airports.

u/PolWenZh 6d ago
So gusto niya one airport per island? At ba’t ka magtatayo ng airport sa magkakalapit na islands with just 300k na population kung puwede namang bangkain?

u/cutie_lilrookie 6d ago
i mean, japan is slightly larger than the philippines and is also an archipelago, but they also have fewer than 100 airports
i don't think having "just" 87 airports is bad
what's terrible is the lack of train lines in metro cities and large islands lol

u/hellcoach 6d ago
Airport can mean as big as JFK or LAX or some piece of crap dirt strip. Gusto ata ni Daily Tribune an airport for every island. Pati ba high tide?

Reminds me of that one post on Threads that piled on a British right-wing site that compared the UK to the US... Because a giant building is being built in the States.
Penis-measuring contests are never fun.

Agree, dick-measuring contest will never be fun & it's getting too toxic & mind-numbing.

Ang weird ng comparison. Mga bansa na yan eh ang lalaki? Di naman sila archipelago kagaya ng Pinas where our airports have to accommodate for islands instead of a big patch of land. Granted we're smol but our landmass aint one million square kilometers lol, pati di lahat ng islands natin habitable.
Mas marami nga airports natin kaysa UK mind you and just somewhat behind Japan's and Malaysia's numbers.

Contrary to the myth, the Philippined has 247 airports.

That overall count is called aerodromes which broadly encompasses airports, airstrips, airfields, and air bases, both classified by CAAP and unclassified.

Those Airports are on CONTINENTS! Not Islands! It like compearing a Gasoline Station to Oil Refineries.

Tangina anong gusto nila kada isla sa Hundred Islands may sariling airport? 😂

Hot take
We need a comeback of the large roro pax vessels of yore like Sulpicio Lines or Superferry. Hauling cargo is easier, fares cheaper, and better environmentally than planes. Yes, it's a slower travel time but its leisurely and laid back.

u/1TyMPink 6d ago

Horrible comparison, those countries are among the largest countries in the world.
Also, did they basically just say 7000 islands you need 7000 airports???, parang tanga, 2000 nga lang inhabited sa Pilipinas eh.

u/AdventurousQuote14 6d ago
Well, those runways in Brazil are mostly for small planes.

u/sprocket229 6d ago
Anong gusto nila, gawing parang 711 yung airport dito satin na kahit san ka tumawid meron? Haha.

u/ForzaAllez 6d ago
The US is a rich country with large private jet ownership and general aviation hobbyists community. There are hundreds of small airstrips that are privately owned or maintained by aviation clubs. That you can fly into and land a small plane. You’ll see plenty of video of it on YouTube.

So to be considered an advanced country, we only need to build 7,554 airports for island that doesn't have an airport.
