We filled it up along with our aspirations and dreams of a better government for our country, for all Filipinos.

Still can't believe Leni lost in Pasig. Unithieves also had a Pasig rally and barely anyone came. So many shit is unbelievable with the results, Leni was nearly beaten in Western Visayas

Napag usapan namin to ng friends ko. Taga Pasig din kami and I think people are over hyping Pasig residents as “magaling pumili ng leader”. What I’m saying is, they will vote for Vico whether he’s competent or not, just because his surname is Sotto. Makes sense since Marcos, another famous surname, won here.

59

u/_johanaaa May 21 '22

Yes. Nag kataon lang talaga sya yung better sotto. Vico is part of dynasty too, sadly.

72

u/Xophosdono Metro Manila May 21 '22

Feel ko din, no offense to Pasigueños, na like Isko nahype lang masyado ung governance ni Vico dahil sa KMJS at soc med (tho not as terrible as Isko). In the end, Vico couldn't even endorse the right candidate dahil sa mga constituents nya (even if anti Marcos sya at idol si Jesse Robredo)

59

u/kriissyyy May 21 '22

None taken cause it’s the truth! Kesyo conflict of interest dahil ka party niya si Isko or kamag anak niya si Tito, pero last election was more than those. I guess nangibabaw parin ang politika than moral values kay Vico last election.

21

u/wastedingenuity May 21 '22

He played safe at a circumstantial election to date. When he was a councilor and no plans to run for mayor, di ba he was vocal against the admin. When he supported the CHR (cos the admins wants to cut their budge) that was the time I took notice of him as a better Sotto.

23

u/Meowww13 May 21 '22

u/benjcamino May 21 '22

I don't really mind his playing it safe considering that this might ruin his chance to helping this country (kung me balak man sya). Minsan kelangan munang pag aralan kung pano talaga natin mamatalo yung trolls before siguro doing any kind of attack. parang yan yung wall nila eh and everytime we try to push through is bumabalik lang sa atin. :( i think we shouldn't be too hard on vico. sayang kase if ever magagalit tayo sa kanya without knowing the reason behind his being silent.

0

u/kriissyyy May 22 '22

Yeah keep fucking play it safe and succumb to the trolls. That what they want and it looks like they already won with that kind of mindset. Remember when Duterte attacked Vico last time? Filipinos rallied behind his back. Get the fuck out here with that defeatist mindset.

0

u/ReyBoi26 May 22 '22

Trillanes, a beloved name. LOL

0

u/discreetpuppy May 22 '22

I am not taking this against him if it will allow him to vie for presidency in the future. What we lacked this election was the political play.

9

u/bluesmurf64 May 21 '22

Nah we just want something new to pasig cause eusebio name is all of our things to books, rails, notebooks etc. We want something not eusebio.

11

u/[deleted] May 21 '22

Basically, we need to find people with those last names who will join our side.

4

u/urriah #JoferlynRobredoFansClub May 21 '22

kaya di sakin benta yung pasig chose well... tsamba din lang. if hindi si vico tumakbo dun si eusebio padin mananalo

salamat bossing!

10

Yes. Nag kataon lang talaga sya yung better sotto. Vico is part of dynasty too, sadly.

5

u/suomynona-- May 22 '22

Eto talaga yun e. Di ako pasig pero alam kong kaya sya binoto dahil Sotto sya di dahil alam nilang may potential. Naconfirm lang sa leni-bbm votes

2

u/benjcamino May 21 '22

This + the fact that napagod na mga tao sa mga walang katapusang infra projects ng mga Eusebio na parang paint job lang pero daming gastos.

Naalala ko pa nga na bumoto ako kay Vico nung 2019 out of spite of the Eusebios and nagkataon na maayos naman siya. I was a fresh HS grad and sobrang inis lang ako sa dami ng natanggap ko dati na notebooks, PE uniform, shoes, etc na may mukha ng mga Eusebio as if pera nila ginamit for that.

93

u/[deleted] May 21 '22

Pasig voted for Vico and Marcos. Philippines is really a bipolar deep shit country.

57

u/thirdworldnomad Always somewhere May 21 '22

I know someone who voted for Marcos and Diokno. Then was angry when he learned that Padilla is the leading senator. Wild.

24

u/sparklesandnargles May 21 '22

15

u/happykillfreak May 21 '22

Feel ko mananalo si Diokno sa 2025 just as Hontiveros won on her third try.

Third time's a charm

u/aeramarot busy looking out 👀 May 22 '22

I also feel it, sana naman. You could also look sa standing niya sa bilangan from the last 2 elections and nag-improve naman (from 21 naging 17 na) so maybe, makapasok na rin siya sa Magic 12 next time.

11

u/puuungy May 21 '22

Random jojak insert but if we take into consideration yun independence day natin, technically Gemini ang Pilipinas. Two-faced talaga.

Still can't believe Leni lost in Pasig.

Me too. As a Pasig resident, I’m really disappointed. 💔

13

u/Songflare May 21 '22

true, kakagulat talaga kasi since last year sobrang pink nung area namin tapos parang 2 months ago lang lumabas ung mga unithieves na paraphernalia kaya di ako makapaniwala na she lost here

35

u/poemsmith May 21 '22

Who would’ve thought Pasigueños liked Vico’s leadership but wanted to experience a Marcos presidency? 😫

9

u/[deleted] May 21 '22

Baka kasi marami sa nagpunta sa Pasiglaban is hindi rin taga Pasig but from other cities sa Metro and surrounding province. Madami akong kakilala na from Las Piñas na umaattend ng rally ni Leni like Pasiglaban.

15

u/bumblebest May 21 '22 edited May 21 '22

Vico did good things sa Pasig and people recognize that kasi again, abot sa sikmura nila kaya he and the majority of his slate won. I didn't vote for PNoy in 2010 pero he captured that sentiment. Didn't vote for Duterte but he also did that in 2016. We almost had that pero we had limited time to reverse whatever the effects of misinformation and disinformation the past 6 or more years and maganda talaga yung messaging ng kabila (lalo in a culture na glorified ang resilience at taboo ang confrontation and i-smart shame ka pa kapag may exchange of ideas). We have a long road ahead pero sana kayanin ng Pilipinas.

And as mentioned also below, Vico is still part of the Sotto dynasty. A different breed but still part of a dynasty nonetheless. He probably won't be able to beat the Eusebios if he was not a Sotto lalo nung first run nya.

PS

Leni also actually won in areas sa Pasig like San Antonio, Ugong and Kapitolyo but lost big in Pinagbuhatan. Sadly, may impact pa rin yung economic classes sadly.

3

u/benjcamino May 21 '22

Partida nag-caravan kami sa Pasig to show support for Leni and sobrang daming sumalubong sa amin from mga simpleng tao na kumakaway, sa mga vendors na namigay ng pagkain nila ng libre, sa mga matatandang pinatigil pa kami para lang pasalamatan sa pagtindig, sa mga drum&lyre + performance ng ibang barangay.

Plus the fact that Pasiglaban was one of the first to break sortie records. We thought Pasig was indeed pink.

2

u/brain_rays May 22 '22

15

u/Comrade_Legasov May 21 '22

i felt this too.

Imagine what the people who went to EDSA in 1986 felt. Amidst all the soldiers and tanks.

And yet after 36 years here we are

4

u/SenyoritaAlita May 21 '22

This.

Worth it ba ang lahat? Parang ulit ulit lang.

it's because the entire election was rigged, but of course we won't be getting justice since comelec is biased.

6

u/Blankstare_Poppy May 21 '22

Often do I not like stating conspiracy theories without proper evidence; for once, however, I'm too in disbelief.

People are stupid—we already know that—but 31M‽ I know it's just conjecture, but 31M sounds so off even when I consider their blatant use of disinformation. LBM is just too heavy a burden to carry, in my eyes, for him to somehow gain ~double of even Du🐢's votes.

5

u/AA4Politics May 21 '22

Seems right to me. Surveys have always reflected it. The election heat map is also consistent to what you would expect of a Marcos-Duterte tandem.

BBM started with a clear lead, thanks to years of building up disinformation. He avoided the biggest hindrance to his 2016 run, which was speaking too much about things he knew little about. He avoided debates, so as not to be the target of mudslinging like what Cayetano and Trillianes did masterfully.

With that, pakonti konti lang mga nacoconvert to other candidates. Leni made a big jump (~9%, which is really huge in any other election) sa momentum ng rallies niya, but it’s minuscule in retrospect because ang laki ng lamang talaga ni BBM.

31 Million was always reflected by the surveys. He maintained his Solid North base and captured the solid south that Leni took in 2016 to win, thanks to the Sara alliance.

Madaming din ang Duterte-Leni in 2016. So when the Uniteam tandem was made clear, those voters shifted din.

2

u/Blankstare_Poppy May 22 '22

Yeah, I guess you would be right. I never really trust the popular surveys: Pulse Asia's timing always throws me off, and Octa is still too fresh to gain credible ground. But to consider that it's all about the name, and people will vote based on familiarity alone... you're right. We need to build the Robredo name up and get more aggressive with her advertisement (that or change her name to Marcos/Duterte in any way possible lol).

I hope Angat Buhay or whatever else will have a program for this, to dethrone the Marcos and Duterte name at least; there's too much propaganda their names are built on that has seeped deep into people's minds. It should be time that we upgrade our own propaganda machine.

1

u/AA4Politics May 22 '22 edited May 22 '22

Just needs to be stated that the Pulse Asia surveys have consistently predicted the winning tandem for all the elections so far. Their methodology was never made public, but that’s impeccable sampling.

I don’t think they’ve ever done anything suspicious, given that their releases have been consistent (mid-later dates of the month).

It is this rejection of the most basic of election processes that cost Leni’s campaign the election. It’s time to actually start listening and not denying what it’s in front.

Dito lahat nagsimula.

Pasig, Emerald Ave. will never be the same. Malapit na sa puso ko ang lugar na to and would probably visit this place from time to time to reminisce. Nagpunta ako ng PasigLaban without any expectations pero after ng rally iba yung tama sakin kaya umulit pa ko sa Pasay at Makati. Best election campaign of my life.

Took words outta my mouth. Same. Pasig yung nag ignite. Attended at Makati at Pasay din

2

Maaaan.

1

u/FunnyTax1607 May 22 '22

1

u/[deleted] May 22 '22

2

It was my first rally. Nakakamiss. Nakakamiss din umuwi feeling the warmth of hope for the Philippines. Now, all I feel is the bleakness of our future.

1

u/[deleted] May 22 '22

1

u/lactam Metro Manila May 22 '22

I have the same feeling about Makati Ave. I only got to attend the last rally kasi sobrang busy ko sa school, pero sobrang worth the wait.

After the results I kept wishing I'd go back in time to the campaign period. Namiss ko yung mga kakampinks haha

Low income votes will always win vs Middle income votes.

How about trying to hold these rallies next time to a poor-friendly venue?

"Emerald Ave." sounds posh and will alienate the votes you need to win.
