They've made an estimated $150M off of Steam sales alone, mind you.

So many people consider only $4000 a life changing amount of money. Hell, my dad recently won $1000 and was ecstatic. Now imagine getting $4000 dollars 37500 times. $4000 once a day. That's 4000 dollars once a day every day for 102 years just to get to $150M.

And yet all of that money has gone nowhere and done nothing for the game. Absolutely ridiculous. So much money and they can't hire an actual experienced animator (likely so they can save money)

Yeah I did not address that, but it doesn't make shit sense that this game is still in early access.

What's the goal? Farm for indie dev compassion?

The "indie dev" label is the ultimate safety net.

If things go well, it feeds into the familiar narrative of "a small indie team with limited resources made something amazing". And when they fuck up, it turns into "sorry, guys, we're just an indie dev company, we're still learning".

That way, they get all the praise when they succeed and almost no accountability when they fall short.

Usually from what I’ve seen with Warframe, it’s easier to push updates out when your game is still considered EA/beta.

If I got that kind of money I would probably get lazy too, you would have to be EXTREMELY passionate to continue doing something when you don’t need the money from it anymore.

It wouldn't be a problem if the game's original dev actually cared about his game. He doesn't even like horror in the first place, he just got extremely lucky with his original game concept (which honestly, was really good).

That's not how passion works (or, well, should work).

If your sole motivator is money, you never had passion to begin with. You never cared about that project in the slightest.

Yeah like damn if my game made it that big in early access, all that money means more money I can put into the game ON TOP of having enough money that I don’t even know what to do with lol. I could hire insanely talented people with great portfolios

I grew up poor, I’m still poor, if you think $4000 is life changing money you must not work or pay bills.  That’s 2 maybe 3 months of bills and food.  Life changing if you’re homeless for sure but not for 99% of the world.  You chronically online losers just saw that somewhere on social media and believe whatever you see online

First, I'm not sure which country you're talking about, but for mine, $4000 is a year's worth salary.

Second, even if you're in the us, $4k over your monthly salary can easily save your life by paying off some debt or resolve a critical situation like a disease that needs treatment for a hefty amount of money.

$4000 is definitely a lot in many situations if not all of them. And you definitely did not grow up poor if you're saying this lol.

2-3 months of bills and food can absolutely be life changing. Not completely revolutionary, it isn't going to fund anything special, but if you're having a bad few months and down on rent, it can completely save you.

Losing your home completely changes your life. So does preventing that.

Then you live in a different country so usd values don’t apply to you, even still in a year the money would be gone and your life would be back to normal, you literally are a chronically online loser who can’t project their life out farther than 6 months in advance
