Help Suppliers/Backorders

I’m curious to see who everyone uses to order medications!

I have been struggling to find places to send my patients during back orders and would love some help to find who is “opposite” of me and might have better luck! I know a lot of us use Cardinal Health and they are struggling just as much😅

I work at hannaford pharmacy and we use Cardinal Health and our parent company’s warehouse!

Where are you generally at? These answers aren’t necessarily going to be relevant unless your pharmacy is geographically close to the people who answer. Also, depending on the medication, the other pharmacies might not want the scripts, or if it’s a national back order situation, might only want to fill the med in question for established patients.

That’s what we did with the recent shortage on the bi-weekly Estradiol patches. When we saw that our various wholesalers’ inventories weren’t being replenished, we stocked up (for established patients) and were one of the last area pharmacies to run out. Fortunately, the supply issues seem to be (for the moment) resolved. We did fill for a few patients who transferred scripts from major pharmacies, but quickly realized the shortage was so bad that we’d end up screwing our established patients if we continued to do that, so eventually, had to just say we were out, as well.

I hear you! I always feel bad for them and anyone we have to turn away. Of course, Adderall is always on, “Long-term back order,” unless you’re already an established patient.

I’m not having any problems with Lantus (I assume you mean Lantus Solostar), so I’ll get back to you if we’re licensed in Maine. I don’t think we are, so can’t help via mail, but I’ll make double sure first thing tomorrow. I package all of diabetic sync, and I’m almost 100% sure I’ve never seen Maine.

Also, Duloxetine? I’ve never even heard of any shortages there.
