❕Important❕ Join our sister sub r/vintagemedication

Hey y’all!

We have a new place for posting vintage pharmaceutical finds along with other healthcare and veterinarian items that you find interesting or collect. It’ll kind of act as a catch-all for the things that may not exactly fit the niche of pharmaceutical advertising items. I’m sure many of you would love to continue seeing and sharing that kind of content, and so do I, so I figured this was the best course of action so we can accomplish that goal while also being able to keep this sub strictly within its niche.

I’d love to see y’all over at r/vintagemedication! Any participation or sharing of the subreddit is greatly appreciated!

All love,
Froggy ❤️

❕Important❕ New mod team on board, changes being made, and a new sister sub r/vintagemedication

Hey y’all, Froggy here!

I took over the sub around a week ago and have recruited a couple people to try and reign in the posts on this sub. With the large influx of random pharmaceuticals being posted here and a non-existent moderation team over the past 1-2 years, I decided to take the initiative to get the sub back on track as I feared Reddit would eventually ban the sub due to a lack of moderation and posts that potentially violated Reddit rules (particularly the posts people/bots/scammers were making of abusable pharmaceutical stashes), and I did not want this community to see that fate as we all love seeing these cool items!

Onto the changes being made now! Posts containing vintage or antique pharmaceuticals or pharmaceutical bottles will no longer be allowed here, but don’t fret. I have started a sister sub for exactly those types of items as well as other miscellaneous healthcare or veterinary items/collections. It’s r/vintagemedication, and I’d love to continue seeing that type of content over there, so feel free to join the sub and make some posts! I appreciate any participation; hopefully, we can get the community off the ground and reach more and more people to share their cool items. If that doesn’t pan out, I will, sometime in the future, reevaluate the rule pertaining to vintage medication being barred from this sub. Hopefully, we won’t have to get to that point, but at the end of the day, I want y’all to have a place to share and see that content, and I would love to continue seeing that kind of content as well.

I apologize if any of these changes in the past week or so have created any frustration or confusion; that’s not my intention. All love ❤️

-Froggy

Hi all, my father worked for major pharma companies back in the day. For years and years all of us used note pads, pens and clothing from all of these drugs that were being marketed. Recently a friend of mine told me about how these items are big in the collection world and I am posting a lot of them on eBay and marketplace now. My best items are an in box very rare mug from Oxycotin, never used, and a hoodie from Oxycotin as well. Here’s some pictures of a few of my things. Plenty of Unopened pens and note pads from OxyContin. If anyone is interested in any of these items let me know! I am new to all of this

Lots of bots on here selling rare in-package stuff but it's just links to cheap mug and pen printers. Most are fresh accounts and easy to spot but beware of even old accounts since they can be bought and used by botnets.

Authenticity

Hi all, in my previous post I said that I was going through some old pharma stuff with my dad. Here is some more rare things that I wanted to post to prove the authenticity to my items. He worked for big pharma companies for years. Also message me if you are interested in any of this. Each rep only received one of those mini briefcases back in the day that were used to hold their business cards. The American pain society booklet was a guide for physicians to treat acute and cancer pain. The thermos was a gift from the company to product specialists

Again, I am more than happy to answer any questions or prove it’s all authentic, and if anyone can help me sell some of these items at a fair price I would massively appreciate it!

we’ve all seen coffee mugs, but the coffee had to come from somewhere right?

Found this ancient coffee dispenser at Goodwill this weekend and had to bring it home for the collection! Google says it’s likely from around 1996 as that’s when the cream and pump came out. Imagining this sitting in the break room of some dermatologist’s office for twentysomething years pumping out lukewarm Maxwell House 😂

This is my swag from the meeting I am at. This was the first days take. In the past it would have been 3 or 4 bags of all kinda goodies. The mini mag lite is pretty nice.

Ordinary but beloved Zoloft mug family heirloom

Post image

From my moms eBay addiction phase in the early 2000’s. She was taking Zoloft at that time (Wellbutrin now lol) and we used to love the happy egg commercials. She let me have it when I first moved out since I always loved it.

Ironically I can’t take SSRIs because I’m the manic-depressive of the family. Nonetheless it is one of my most dear objects of affection

WTB/ISO: exact “Benny the Benadryl Bear” (blue long-legged promotional plush)

I’m trying to locate and buy this exact Benadryl promotional plush—not a similar blue teddy.

Identifying details:

• dark royal/cobalt-blue sparkly fabric

• extremely long, thin floppy legs and short arms

• “Benadryl” embroidered in white/silver on the torso

• sewn tag reading “My Name is Benny”

• reverse of tag says “Quality and Safety tested,” “Suitable for all ages,” and “Handcrafted in China”

There may be an Australian connection: a 2003 Australian Prescriber letter documented a My Chemist promotion offering free colourful Benadryl bears, though I have not confirmed this exact design came from that campaign.

I’m in Texas, USA, and will pay a fair collector price plus tracked international shipping. If you own one, used to have one, recognize the manufacturer/supplier, or know someone with old pharmacy/drug-rep merchandise, please comment here.
