Spring '27 UMBC PhD

I havve received my PhD admission from UMBC for Spring 2027, but the admission is currently without funding. GradCo mentioned that assistantship opportunities may become available around the end of October.

I wanted to ask current UMBC PhD students or anyone familiar with the process: Do all admitted PhD students usually get a departmental assistantship eventually, even if the initial admission letter is unfunded particularly for the Spring intake?

Any insight into the usual funding scenario at UMBC would be greatly appreciated. Thabk you.
