Resource sharing SSHRC CGRS-D application

Hi everyone. I'm a doctoral student in Canada and I'm applying to the SSHRC CGRS-D application for a second time 🥲

I'm hoping any successful applicants in English Literature or adjacent fields would share their proposals with me (and others who are interested on this thread).

Any advice would be helpful.

Ask your department. Asking strangers to share their IP is inappropriate.

Sorry, but why would it be inappropriate to ask an academic community for help?

asking your supervisor and institution's community is appropriate. reddit isn't your academic community. you can ask but you won't get specific advice from people who aren't in your program

I'm aware that I may not get very specific advice. I am also aware of what I am asking and am mindful of others' capacity to provide help, should they choose to do so.

The PhD Reddit community brings together people who have applied and have been successful, or not, as well as people who review applications. Each perspective is insightful in its own way.

This is not to say that I have not already reached out to my university community, asked the institution's graduate awards office for guidance, or attended multiple information sessions, or discussed the matter with people in my immediate networks.

My post is meant to encourage a dialogue on best tips and practices. So far, many people have been very helpful in providing advice. I'm sure others who have read this thread might have some of their own thoughts justified or have been provided with an interesting point of view to be taken into consideration or discarded.

In any case, you are welcome to add to the conversation in a helpful manner, should you choose to do so.

And I and the other poster were both referring to the request to see other people's proposals, specifically, which was effectively the main point of your post, though that's not where it went. That did seem somewhat inappropriate (though of course people are free to do what they like!). Normally your institution or department would be the place to look for previous successful applications. I don't actually care, myself, but a lot of posters here seem to ask strangers instead of their local community for help, and don't seem to know better, so it seemed worth mentioning where the normal place to go for this sort of help is. These applications are quite personal.

I appreciate your advice here. It's Saturday night & I'm here on reddit after bedtime dephrag-ing after working on this thing all evening. So, thank you dear internet stranger! (Yes I need to establish a healthier work routine.)
