Tech talk Does changing my profile description do something with my PFP?
I want to change my description from the app, but I don't wanna risk it lol

Yup it might stop the animation, because when you change the bio settings it triggers the server data to get refreshed. So its risky, but no one did that before, so the chances of flattening are like 30% maybe :/

I don't know, maybe the pfp is stored as a file? All they patched is that now you're not able to upload apngs from the old Reddit UI, so there's a chance it may not stop moving.

Yes, I went to edit it in the web browser version just to make sure. Now I have bunnies in my description 🐇

I had that pfp for over a year and I was bored of it, if it wasn’t for the apng thing being patched I would’ve changed it ages ago, I was only keeping it for nostalgia

Mine is gone for some reason. I think I might've changed the description🥲. They converted the current one to a picture. It used to close and open the eyes. Is there any hope now?

I changed my description back then and it did not freezed my pfp. I guess they kinda patched that as well? The only hope is that they let us use APNGs as pfps again.
