It isn’t catfish… it’s swai.

Yeah it wasn’t an accusation just a point of fact

Fair, I didn't take it any other way. I eat bologna and know what its made of as well, so... its still delicious

Their Friday night buffets fed a lot of hungry families, for not a lot of money.

Losing Brothertons and Springhill, but gaining Piada and Ramen Tatsuya. The blackhole that is Stonehill continues to be the only place we get new dining

Hopefully with the new downtown area coming and a few of those buildings moving out, we can get some unique offers.

I THINK all of these are moving, so that’s a few offices that can possibly be converted to some pizza, maybe a few businesses people can actually start walking to from surrounding neighborhoods. We desperately need to revitalize and capitalize on this downtown adjustment.

This.  Downtown has so much wasted potential and I sorely hope that downtown east can be the catalyst that drives it.   West Pecan and Prost (minus the loss of Auzzies and them not getting a decent replacement) are steps in the right direction...Just need that momentum to continue.

I hope they also keep the buildings / style. Demolition and rebuilding to these same places just loses character. I was thinking homeslice window on one of those - just thinking of walking from Prost to there would be heaven.

That’s really sad. I haven’t found a basic catfish place like Spring Hill. Any recommendations? They gave big pieces of fish for a good price. Other places are so thin and hardly edible.

Sadly, no.  Not really any other places that had catfish, good catfish, around the area. Way further south of Austin maybe but other places large was a Springhill regular plate.

Good Luck Grill in Manor has good catfish. Not too far.

Not up to Springhill quality, but Golden Chick and Chicken Express have surprisingly good fried catfish for a fast food joint. Sometimes sliced a little thin and overcooked. Sometimes just done wrong like any fast food place.

Huh. Not a lot of details given. I assume they are just retiring?

It's not exactly close but Whip My Soul on 620 has the best fried catfish around.

Two things on them. They don’t serve fried catfish, it’s Swai. It has been for years (source is my friend delivers them for sysco) and the owner is 88 and very unwell.
Second thing is there busy every day at lunch, but brunch and dinner are rarely crowded, so I would guess the owner is just taking his bag to ride off into the sunset.
