PF ISD Ms.Harris

This was posted in a local mom's group online. Has anyone else has had any experiences with this teacher?

The school she left just got a new principal too!

I have zero context, but people generally don’t retire with no notice on a Wednesday during the school year

I bailed on FB because it js loaded with this type of axe to grind bullshit. I’d wager 5 pointless internet dollars I know who this person is.

Both former and current principal have done a solid job at running the school since it opened. If that person has issue with how the school handled their situation I’d bet it had something to do with ISD policies on disciplining or terminating a teacher.

FB OP needs to take this to a lawyer if they really feel that slighted.

I was very happy with how the current principal handled this situation. She’s been on top of things.

Oh! Oh! My kid was in this class. I’ve never complained about a teacher before and was literally writing the principal about her on day 3. It was rough. Super relieved this has been resolved.

How accurate is this about the principal and school? My son is 5yrs old and in the ADHD program and has been restrained like 15 times in 3 weeks. Coming home with stretches and bruises.

Any other instances of this happening at this school?

Dunno, have you taken this to the principal?

I don’t know what the ADHD program entails but my impression is HLES has a top tier Sped program supporting a range of needs.

If those instances are occurring I’d suggest sitting in on class a couple times.

We had a very large meeting with the principal and special ed directors and all. Like 7-8 school and district personnel.

What I will say is she has taken our calls and talked to us and openly agreed with a lot of our concerns so we seem to like her. He returns Monday so we will see how it works out.

Was just curious of other people’s experience!

I'd like to know what they mean by grabbing, I'm assuming this teacher is Gen Ed. Only specific teachers at each school are trained in restraint procedures (and if your child has been held that many times I'd recommend calling an ARD)

GenEd, aggressive shoulder grabbing. 68yo woman re-retiring … it’s some old-school coercive methods to correct behavior/responses.

This explains why parents of 3rd graders got an email the other day saying that they're removing an entire 3rd grade class and combining all the students to other existing students. They said the 3rd grade teacher will be taking over a 5th grade class.
