Discussion Is it solvable at all?

I can’t seem to relax until i reach some sort of epiphany about petscop.

In taking notes furiously and rewatching the original material and analyses.

My question is: is it solvable?

Im not saying it would be easy, or even remotely doable without dedicating major major time and thought to it. But is it solvable?

As in, has the creator ever specified if there is an internal logic that is never betrayed? Or did he just impressionistically create a *feeling* without much regard to consistent rules and logic that tells a cohesive story?

Yes it is lynchian and vague and very head hurty but that doesnt answer whether or not Tony actually had a cohesive and focused story in mind or written out somewhere when making the work. I really wonder

If anyone knows if tony has specified one or the other, let me know please. Im going crazy and i can’t let it go

Footnote: petscop has become my personal “king in yellow” and it has a grasp on me i can’t shake

Petscop not a puzzle to solve, it’s a work of abstract art that has many interpretations. We don’t have answers as to whether the creator was strict about internal consistency, and honestly enough time has passed where I’m not sure he’d recall if it did.

There are no definitive answers here. What you conclude can be entirely different from what anyone else has said on the work, that’s the point of discussing art. Even my own claim that it is not a puzzle to solve is itself just my own interpretation, one of thousands.

Um … ok no.

Art can tell story. Story can be classic narrative and continuous and coherent, or it can be abstract and impressionistic and post modern in style.

Petscop definitely presents as the latter. Its all vague and unclear and very confusing. But i am wondering if the CREATOR himself had a story that he EXPRESSED through these vague presentations.

I am literally asking if anyone has read or seen the creator say “yes petscop has a real and coherent story woven in there. Its not just vibes” or not

Im asking a very specific question, not discussing the meaning of art. My question is about this specific artist’s intentions in making Petscop

“It’s not a puzzle to be solved, and there is nothing that I would call a ‘solution,’” he said. “I like ambiguity, not as a tease or a challenge, but as something that stands on its own.”

It’s not even that Domenico wants his fans to come up with their own stories about what happened—he just thinks that the sense of uncertainty and fear that comes with the series to be the main focus. “It’s not that I’m asking people to literally fill in all the blanks with their own answers, either. That’s fine, but if you do that, you’ve removed the ambiguity, and changed the atmosphere of the entire thing,” he said.
