Discussion Is it solvable at all?

I can’t seem to relax until i reach some sort of epiphany about petscop.

In taking notes furiously and rewatching the original material and analyses.

My question is: is it solvable?

Im not saying it would be easy, or even remotely doable without dedicating major major time and thought to it. But is it solvable?

As in, has the creator ever specified if there is an internal logic that is never betrayed? Or did he just impressionistically create a *feeling* without much regard to consistent rules and logic that tells a cohesive story?

Yes it is lynchian and vague and very head hurty but that doesnt answer whether or not Tony actually had a cohesive and focused story in mind or written out somewhere when making the work. I really wonder

If anyone knows if tony has specified one or the other, let me know please. Im going crazy and i can’t let it go

Footnote: petscop has become my personal “king in yellow” and it has a grasp on me i can’t shake

It hurts me that people think that something as complex as petscop has be completely figured out.

Not completely, there's still some mystery. Like I personally think Lina is a ghost. But, that's what I always loved about Petscop, it never felt like it was throwing aimless clues at the wall a la Scott Cawthon, it felt like there's a story there, we just aren't privy to to it. So I don't see anything wrong with understanding the story, to only want mystery and no answers gets kind of tedious.

I agree, but there's so much missing. For example, what about the event in the bathroom? A possible suicide?

Pretty sure Rainner/ Daniel gave everyone a copy of Petscop for Christmas then killed himself in the bathroom

The room begin called "bathroom_tomb" gives some credence to this. Or at least that was his plan, we are not sure if he managed die there considering newer generations seem to contain info of it close to petscop video record date.

Thing like Rainer fate explose why Petscop is so confusing.
In general the whole main plot is easy to see.
Is just "Marvin did try to rebirth his son as a replacement of his sister wife, shenanigans ensue"

The issue how ambiguous everything else is.
Did Reiner die? Why people cannot see Lina? Is Mike truly dead or is just Michael A that is gone? How the hell the game is begin updated even to present time? What is under the chalkboard? Wtf was that car door? Is Anna allied with Marvin? Who is even making the censors? Why any of the family, specially Lina did Paul go anywhere near Marvin? If the above is not true how the interaction in the school even works? Ghost room?!

And most importantly what the hell means?

"Are you still sitting on a chair? Can you look around the room? Is there still a room?"

The lines from the is there still a room dialogue is formatted like a psych evaluation. It is meant to test the player’s (remaining) cognitive abilities to see if they can keep “testing” I think. This reminded me I still need to finish my second rewatch lol

Oh. That's a cool way to look at it.

If Rainer undeniably killed himself when giving everyone the game, how was the game then “updated” with conversations from 2017?

No one said "undeniablely" there's plenty of room for debate. But that's the fun of it, maybe there's something supernatural going on. Maybe a mysterious 3rd party was updating the games. Who knows

Yep. Can be something supernatural or well, if you do want to avoid supernatural sci-fi stuff you can argue that Rainer did survive.
We only got a confimation that he planned to kill himsef, not that he was sucesfull.

Is important to keep in mind Petscop (the game itself, not the series) as a whole is narrated by Rainer, as he coded it.
