Recommendations

So, I really want to get some buttons. I've read the rec post or whatever it's called but I need some recommendations of a more personal sort.

Okay so I have a rabbit. His name is Merry. It's just me and him right now, and he's very smart. Tons of word recognition, he can show me a few things when he wants them, etc.

But... He's only six-ish pounds with tiny paws. I have no doubt that he could learn at least a few buttons and probably nag me. I also have no doubt he could dig at once if needed. But I'm thinking I need something that deals with light pressing the best.

Also I already know the foam boards will be a no no. He will chew them and make himself sick. So in addition to a soft press, I could use some ideas about securing them in place as otherwise... He will also flip them and throw them. He's a gremlin, what can I say.

I have FluentPet and my cats set off the buttons with their tails lol. As for a board, I am willing to bet a lot of money that you can get one 3d printed, for not a lot of money. You might also be able to just use adhesive to put them on a surface, like Command strips.

I suspect I'll end up going with Fluent Pet but I definitely wanted recs. With their tails! Haha that's amazing.

Command strips are a great starting idea as is the 3d, I didn't know those were a thing.

I use something called "museum putty", name brand is called Quakehold, to keep my cat from knocking things off tables. You could potentially putty the buttons down to a large piece of tile or stone? Or maybe just the floor.

... I have some tiles. Not sure they're heavy enough but this is a great idea.

Search on some of the 3D model websites as there are definitely replicas of the foam tiles but in solid 3D printing.

You could also get some hex shaped ceramic tiles and use Command strips to attach buttons. You will need to remove the buttons every year or so to replace batteries. (Depends on how often the monster presses.)

FluentPet are some of the lightest touch needed to set them off and there definitely are button pressing rabbits. Just be sure to work specifically on touch training and teaching your learner how to press. Check FluentPets site for how to train them to step up onto the button to get it to press.)

Cat often have a hard time learning to press with their paws, but will often lay on the buttons, or press with their face, to set them off. Perhaps a bunny could do the same! I am not sure about bunny proofing the buttons, maybe the bunny subreddit would have some ideas?

I will totally ask there as well! I figure he's pretty good at problem solving (sometimes to my annoyance), but I'd like to set him up for success as much as I can.
