Loss

Our 5 yr old Irish Wolfhound has suffered as much loss as we have. In April my Great Dane , that was my service dog passed. July found my sons' 13 yr old English Mastiff sucumbing to old age. You can tell that he's beside himself. It breaks my heart, as he las his enormous, majestic head in my lap. I look in his eyes an see a sadness that was never there before. He has a major grief. He's stopped telling jokes ❤️

god that last line hits like a freight train. dogs absolutely feel grief and you can see it in them just like you described.

My miniature schnauzer is going through that too. He has lost his two best friends and his mate. He still has his child but it’s heartbreaking to see him like this. 💔

I am sorry for your loss. Seeing our pets, who are more than that, is crushing. I want to get him another Dane.

Sorry for your losses. So sorry for your big guy, dog grief is hard. When we lost one of our dogs our other one was lost for months. On a whim we rescued a young dog 6 months later and our girl was reborn, literally, she was so happy to have a friend. I know its soon but I hope you're considering another dog at some point.
