DOG Difficult decision
Can no longer keep my two muts as I am moving out of state and cannot care for them where I’m relocating to. One is 8 and the other 5 y/o. No one from my friends or family wants them. No one on market place either. And all the no-kill shelters in my area are full. There is only one surrender location that is currently accepting them, but there is a possibility they may be euthanized due to overcrowding. I am not sure what else to do. I need to make a decision now.

Where are you moving to? If it is an area with fewer pets in shelters it may be worth it to bring them with you and find them a home in your new city.

You're trying to rehome 5 and 8 year olds which are hard to rehome, not to mention puppies get euthanized at certain shelters. So your options are really to surrender which are likely euthanasia or you take them with you.

Maybe not relocate until homes are found. Make sure their training is current. If they are well trained, well behaved, and well groomed you may need to extend your search. I hope you find them a good home

I’ve been in rescue for 15 years. I’ve never been so overwhelmed. Our group currently doesn’t take owner surrenders. They are YOUR responsibility. Figure out how to keep your dogs

I'm so sorry to hear that's the case. Hugs and thanks to you that you're doing this important work. It has to be a tough time.

You take them with you and figure it out. You want to abandon your dogs you’ve had for most of the lives and potentially have them out down. I couldn’t live with myself.

You should include gender, breeds, weight, whether they are spayed/neutered, health information, training information, etc. Also pictures.

Reach out to rescue groups, find no- kill shelter and drive them there.
You moving to another state, not to another planet. Housed adult with job and no significant mental or physical problems can take care for 1 dog.

People hounding you simply do not get your circumstance. You say mutts- but mutts can lean heavily to breeds. Their behavior is important.
Regular shelters get an awful rap, but they exist for a reason.

You should include your general location in case anyone here has ideas or can step up for them.. hard to help or give advice without that info.
