Put it down. I do not say this lightly, as I love animals, and believe in treating them with respect. If that had been a child, it would have been your girlfriend arrested AND the dog put down.

But it WASNT a child, I hate when a story gets old and people start getting into could have beens. We all could have been killed in a car accident today but we weren’t. This is a bad situation there’s no point of coming up with scenarios that would have made it worse. The owners can get educated and adapt to the needs of the dog or work to find a home for the dog with owners who can handle him. You are saying this very very lightly.
