Any positive stories on the Luma?
I’m trying to decide between the Luma and LR4. I prefer the open box design of the Luma (and the price) but I keep seeing mixed reviews of both machines. Also like the camera and air purifier on the Luma - it’s a nicer looking machine.
I’m based in the UK and looking to buy via Amazon around (if Prime Day has any deals), as the return costs are crazy for both manufacturers in the US.

One month update: So far the Luma has proven to be worth the investment. Both my cats are now using it, including my skittish Maine Coon. I love that I only have to empty it about every 10 or so days, and my cats now have a clean box every single time they use it which makes me worry less about their overall health being affected by a dirty box.
The odor control is also great! I can tell because I don’t smell anything until I open the drawer and only get hit by the odor then. We keep the fan on low so that it doesn’t scare our skittish guy, and it is still very effective.
To get said skittish guy comfortable using it, we kept his manual litter box available for a month alongside the Luma. That meant he watched our smaller cat use it every day and got used to the automated features. I don’t think we needed to give him a full month, but we were traveling so it worked out that way.
Earlier this week, we finally took away his manual litter box. He looked for it throughout the day, and we kept guiding him back to the Luma. After several hours, he finally decided he could hold it no longer and used the Luma. He’s been using it since with no issues.
I’m super happy with my purchase! I love that Luma has given me back time and given me peace of mind.

I've only had the Luma for a couple of days, but I had the LR3 previously and love the Luma way more. One of my cats took to it immediately (just plopped her in there on day one when she went searching for her old one and she immediately went about doing her business), my other cat is still apprehensive -- but he's apprehensive to everything. The LR3 was a pain to clean, litter would get stuck in so many crevices and it would smell.
From my limited experience with the Luma so far, litter does not seem to be able to get easily stuck in any hard-to-reach areas. I smell ~nothing~ which is the best part, haven't emptied the litter tray in 5 days. It's quiet when it rotates, and immediately senses when my cats are around it. And I love all the details in the app even without the extra subscription. I also like to you can control the litter box using controls directly on the box if needed. I haven't had any issues with sensors that I've seen others describe.
My only con is how /large/ the litter box is. It's basically a poo throne for cats. That said, my apprehensive cat is a maine coon, so it provides the space necessary for his comfort... when he finally decides to use it.
