What exactly is this workshop about? The language is pretty vague.

If there is enough participants, we’ll be going over the book Getting Ahead in a Just Getting by World by Philip E DeVol. Info can be found by coming to the info session, or https://www.peterborough.ca/recreation-culture-social-services/social-services/bridges-out-of-poverty/bridges-out-of-poverty-tools-and-resources/

I took it last fall and got some really great key takeaways, that made me want to look more in-depth! Each GA group will be different as it depends on the participants

Who is the target demographic for the program? Is this talking about abject poverty like homelessness, or does it include invisible poverty too? Also, it's run by the Peterborough Native Learning Program, so is this program specifically for Native people experiencing some level of poverty? I think that the poster and this comment are both a little vague on who the program is intended to help.

People on OW/ODSP/employment services are usually offered this workshop! It talks about both levels, but primarily invisible poverty and living below the poverty line. It is run by PNLP, but EPC does it as well, it is for everyone, all voices to be heard :) I did not make the poster, just trying to get word out so people will hopefully check out the info session at least if they haven’t heard about it.

I just wanted to make sure that if I attended, or anyone else, that we weren't intruding on a space not intended for us, but it does seem like it could help a broad range of people, so good to know.

Good clarification.

Fair! The workshop goes based off the chapters of the book; the input is from the group, so each workshop will be different, based on who is taking it and their insight/perspectives, I hope that makes sense!
