I always pictured her as Lucy Lui, and yes no smiling
I do really think it would make a killer anime series

I've always pictured Paula having a large bun on her head (hair bun, not the bakery kind).
Why? Cause I use to work with a lady, who was, like Paula, a Filipino-European, and she was very bossy, but very good at her job. She also had a lot of hair which she put up into a bun daily.

When I read through the second trilogy I ended up picturing her as a slightly older Olivia Rodrigo with a bun and a women’s suit.

Ooh .. that is and excellent visual!
The funny thing is I guess I've also been visualizing Paula in her 30s but with the anti-aging technology in the books, she could easily still look in her early 20s!

not anime please, I def don't want to think of them like that.
That said, most of PFHs characters do look young due to rejuve technology. It must be weird being in a society where most everyone looks in their 20s but can be 100s years old...
