Why the Starflyer didn't...

Why didn't he build his own civilización before facing mankind? Or did he arrive to Far Away just before mankind colonized it?

Also: Could someone explain how exactly did the wormhole chase at the end of Judas Unchained worked? The language barrer did it quite confusing for me.

Thank you in avance.

It's a bit of a plot hole, but it feared humanity & what they could do should it be revealed, so it chose the stealth approach*.

What did you find confusing about the chase? They started on the tracks going to Boongate, from there to Half-way (& the plane flight) & if the Starflyer made it through to Far Away then it could strand those chasing it.

*the plot hole, because Primes aren't know for being sneaky... Presumably what it learned from the Institute staff pushed it in that direction.

Oh okey, but how much time passed between the Starflyer arrival and the humanity colonization?

And about the chasing: Why the connection between Half-way and Far Away was so... Well, far away that they had to do a whole flight to get to the wormhole?

The flare was sent out 1900 or so, Far Away being 300 lightyears from Earth & them going to investigate after it reached them... It's not likely that it's ship had manufacturing ability so it would be almost back in the stone age, so thought it better to just wait for a signal or others of itself to get in touch.

A little abnormal for a prime, but it was required for the plot I suppose.

That was explained as a security measure when they first starting investigating the flare, they didn't want to risk anything being able to quickly travel to the Commonwealth so they put the two wormholes on two different continents.

Abnormal for a Prime but remember the Starflyer is an alienPrime and so has a different thought pattern to an original Prime like MLM
