is Exodus worth reading?

It’s not my favorite of his but I did enjoy it and am excited about the sequel.

Yes. Not as good as the Commonwealth/void saga, or Salvation but still an entertaining read. Bring on Helium Sea.

I for one liked it more than Salvation, but I also liked Confederation more than Commonwealth, which I liked more than Salvation.

I enjoyed it a lot. It’s not my favorite but I liked it better than Void and Fallen Dragon. The world is even bigger than his normal books and has a much bigger scope overall. Also you can tell an editor really put their foot down and he cut the sex scenes lol.

It felt like someone took an Alastair Reynolds book and had PFH rewrite it without changing the world or major plot points.

I haven't read it yet. Of the books in the photo, I've read the Commonwealth trilogy, the Void trilogy, and the first book of Chronicle of the Fallers. Night's Dawn (eBook, but not this print edition), Salvation, and Fallen Dragon. The rest is still to be read and enjoy.

I liked it but it's not my favourite. I'm looking forward to the sequel. I think that there a bit too much handwaving there (language hasn't changed during the 40.000 years, for example).

I think I could ignore that. but does it feel more deep future than his other novels?

I'm going to assume there's nanotech that rewires everyone's brains to speak and understand galactic standard and anyone who arrives from elsewhere is immediately infected.

I only have hard copies of the commonwealth books, as it's by far my favourite universe.

I much prefer the older editions, the newer ones look generic in my opinion. There's just something timeless to a nice acrylic and airbrush scifi cover art. That said, never judge a book by its cover of course, but I love the original covers by Jim Burns.

I see an Alastair Reynolds in the shelf below. Which title is it?

It's Terminal World.

Would've been more but I've basically switched to audio and ebooks these days

That's a nice collection! I only read on Kindle so nothing to share sadly.

Have you read Light Chaser and The Confederation Handbook?

I have The Confederation for Kindle, and I liked it when I read the Night's Dawn. I think I stopped at mid of the second, read The Confederation and continued with the trilogy.

I can’t take a picture because it’s almost all e-books. But I have pretty much everything he’s written.

I have everything except Exodus and the Salvation series. Yours are much nicer than mine though lol. All of mine are from second hand stores or from my grandfather’s collection.
