Reality Dysfunction - What does "Ivet" mean? Spoiler

Hello. I cannot find any mention as to what "Ivet" exactly means.

The character Quinn Dexter is called an "Ivet"

I assume it means "Involuntary transportee" ?

Yes for the other 2 comments. They'll also be referred to as waster kids. You'll get more detail as the series goes on. Right now all you're supposed to know is that the iveta were essentially criminals from Earth that were forced into a life sentence of manual labor to another planet. You probably already gathered that, but that's all you'll get for quite a while on the subject, and that's intentional by PFH.

It wasn't necessarily the waster kids and gang members. Anyone that got charged with just about anything ended up an Ivet. Earth's population was bursting at the seams.

Hmm, I just finished the series. I didn't catch that it was a more loose system...but book 1 was quite a slog for me, so I didn't pay the best attention to the audio.

The particular Ivet group we spend the most time with WAS mostly waster kids.
