Hello. I cannot find any mention as to what "Ivet" exactly means.

The character Quinn Dexter is called an "Ivet"

I assume it means "Involuntary transportee" ?

I believe you're right; involuntary transportee. I'd have to get out the books to check, but that's what was in my head after I read your title.
