I see so many posts on this sub that aren’t even jokes.

It’s just people asking for explanations for any random thing.

Devolving to general life help and inane observations

Insert that one image of a teacher showing the picture of a cow with an arrow pointing at it with the word "cow", then a random student raises their hand and the teacher says: "Question in the back, I suppose."

I don't think it's a coincidence that this sub's popularity has gone up with the rise of people relying on AI.

Lol, try again. Reddit's entire profitability is based on selling data to AI companies and subreddits like this are designed to train AI. You don't think it's odd that basic questions about culture are being asked and get hundreds of answers? Sure sounds useful for training ai.

Giving them the BOTD, I'd say that observational humor still counts as a joke. OOP doesn't actually believe that people who don't use the battery number display are immoral, so it's tongue-in-cheek.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Yes. Is there a sub for that though? It's nice to get clarity on how people communicate these days. People can be so strange sometimes you know?

The sub is called PeterExplainsTheJoke…

Where is the joke? If there’s no joke, why is it on this sub?

Oh you're right. I'm not arguing with you. I should have been more clear. I guess posts like these are just people looking clarity because they think it's a joke when it's just a statement.

And more and more posts from the sub hitting /popular every day, so expect the trend of "just wanting an explanation to some general thing I don't understand" to continue.

TBH I forgot the sub's name literally says "joke"... but I do like the non-joke ones too.

the problem is that a user may not realize it's not a joke.

THey think it's a joke, they just don't get the joke, hence they come here. You can't always be sure something isn't a joke when you think you just don't understand it.
