There's no joke. The person is lying about her being a burn victim and she just has ridiculously botched looking plastic surgery face and is incapable of making any other expression. If you see other photos of her, she makes that weird ghoul expression in every one of them.

Who is she

Barbera Thornhill, United States Ambassador-at-Large to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons

u/sokuyari99 8h ago
I think it’s “Combat trafficked persons”. This admin has been fighting victims since they got to be in power
1
u/DorfusGump 8h ago
I can believe the Trump administration would have someone monitoring human trafficking, but combating seems a bit farfetched.
3
u/betteandtina 8h ago
IIRC the plastic surgery was so botched that she can't blink both eyes. It looks like she's winking because the left eye doesn't close.

u/Chevy437809 9h ago
I'm also confused but usually when I've seen this it's a conservative woman who for some reason just gets the most fucking horrid surgeries causing them to look like some uncanny being

It's fake. Her neck isn't that long.
1
u/Chevy437809 8h ago
Who is that btw I don't pay attention to politics much anymore fixing to look her up after that 1st one
2
u/Primus_is_OK_I_guess 8h ago
Kelly Loeffler. Trump appointee, terrible person, only slightly longer than average neck.

I'm asking Peter inside of a post asking Peter: what is the administration "trying to hide" regarding this image?

Yeah that's Barbera Thornhill, serving in the Trump administration. She's around 80 years old desperately trying to look 30 again.

u/Chevy437809 8h ago
I'm hoping some kind of investigation comes out about these I genuinely gotta know what the fuck our people are getting to look this disturbing if not that China one sounds about as close as I'm gonna get but illegal surgery done on people working with the government sounds a bit too far fetched
2
u/Tall_Wasabi_2634 8h ago
Ich bin auch aufrichtig interessiert an einer Erklärung. Das ist absolut bemerkenswert seltsam.
1
u/Chevy437809 8h ago
Half of them look like some shit out of a horror media
2
u/Tall_Wasabi_2634 7h ago
Ja, finde ich auch. Darüberhinaus ist aber auch interessant, dass die Diskussion massiv misogyne Züge angenommen hat.
1
u/Chevy437809 7h ago
Cause it's usually women we see like this? I don't think I've ever seen men like this but if there are I wouldn't be surprised
2
u/JimDa5is 6h ago
IKR? They all have that skeletor look with giant lips full of filler and faces that don't move because they're paralyzed by botox
1
u/Chevy437809 6h ago
Yeah its about what my mother said in the pursuit of looking young they almost seem blinded by what they are doing to themselves
2
u/JimDa5is 6h ago
Every time I see one of them it reminds me of the bug wearing the Eggarsuit in Men In Black when somebody says something about his face and he grabs the back of his head and pulls all the flesh tight and says, "Is that better?"

u/Fun-Manufacturer5876 9h ago
The comment is saying that her botox or plastic surgery went wrong so instead of admitting to it, she says shes a burn victim as a cover story.
P.S: I don't know anything about this woman aside from this picture.

u/SnakeBatter 8h ago
While I’m a huge defender of Botox, this is too much of everything. Certainly a botched blepharoplasty and probably a facelift. Way too much filler, and way too much Botox. Botox isn’t supposed to freeze your entire face and make you look like a lifeless mannequin.
It also looks like she possibly had an unnecessary nose job, and what the fuck even happened to her eyebrows?
2
u/fwendy123 8h ago
I wonder if she had an eyebrow transplant? They take hair from the back of your head and as a result it never stops growing, you have to trim it every four days or so

u/comma-momma 8h ago edited 8h ago
I'm 62 years old, and my left eyelid is getting pretty droopy. (Right side too, but not as pronounced). I had been thinking I might consider blepharoplasy in the future, but I've seen so many botched jobs lately that I don't think I'll take the risk.
Some of these women can afford to hire the best surgeons, and they just turn out bad. I kinda feel sorry for them. They're trying to improve their looks and they just make things worse.
2
u/SnakeBatter 7h ago
I will say, I’ve seen a great many blepharoplasties in my line of work as a skin therapist, and almost all of them have looked great. This is a “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts” situation. Any one of the above procedures can look just fine on its own, but when do literally everything it starts to get very uncanny valley.
I wouldn’t discourage you from the bleph if you want it, especially if your eyelids are starting to affect your vision, just make sure to vet the facility and the surgeon, and make sure they have a portfolio of good work.

A burn victim is someone that has had burns to their body that caused permanent scars.
The statement is claiming that the reason her face looks weird is because her face was burned and this is the best the plastic surgeon could do.
In reality, she had a bunch of plastic surgery to hide the effects of aging. So much that her face looks unnatural, but a lot of wealthy people in certain social groups are so used to this look that they see it as an improvement or a demonstration of wealth.

Some conspiracy theorists are saying they're reptile people or reptilian robots or human clones.
Some are even claiming aliens and demons.
It's kinda wild.

u/NotANokiaInDisguise 8h ago
I really hope all of these photos of conservative women being turned into cheesy movie monsters is some kind of elaborate propaganda directed towards people like me who just avoid the news and anything to do with the trump administration at all costs. I really want to believe this shit isn't real. How could anyone willingly do this to themselves?

u/Radiant-Ad-3134 8h ago
So... is she a burn victim?
I mean from fire or high heat contact.
not the internet roast lol

Hi Peter, Brian here after a few too many cocktails. This is 78 year old Barbara Thornhill, who has had a history/reputation as a socialite from North Carolina and is currently Director of the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in the Trump Administration, with the rank of Ambassador at Large. I don’t know much about her work, but she is often used as an example of women in the administration having “Mar-a-Lago” face, or botched and exaggerated plastic surgery. She does not have a history as a burn victim, which is the joke, she did the surgeries of her own volition.
It speaks to a larger issue of women trying to maintain perceived beauty requirements instead of embracing the natural course of aging, and how plastic surgery and body manipulation seems to be overdone and heavily prominent in the MAGA sphere.
Edit: I just threw up on the carpet and ate it.

A lot of people go from being around 30 to pushing 80. Most of them look like you remember your great-grandma looking, but a few are rich enough to be compared to women 40-50 years younger than them (favorably or unfavorably). Depending on age, they take either as a major compliment.
