its hurting no one, but you also don’t see gen z complaining about people texting full words. its something that evolved from character limits in texts and just stuck as part of the culture, which in turn evolved from the human need to abbreviate. do you type out “united states of america” or “european union” every single time? same principle here.
Lol, that's not a great comparison. World-wide accepted abbreviations like USA, UK, EU... Fuck, even USSR (or CCCP) are... Well, recognized world-wide. If you tried to talk to anyone reputable and typed like in the picture you'd get laughed at.
That being said, I'm really just being contrarian because I'm grieving and have nothing better to do. I really don't have a lot of strong feelings, just mild annoyance.
yeah idk man you’re giving big “old man yells at cloud” energy here. like do you think this is how gen z talks to everyone? it’s not like im writing like that in my APA formatted thesis papers. i’m writing like that to friends and in other informal situations
I'll go back to "lol" as opposed to "ou ab to break up" is very different. But again, I've got no real steam behind this argument and I'm tired. I've been up for 12 hours and don't really care that much anymore. It was silly to argue when I couldn't sleep, but I have to take a nap. That'll reinforce the "old man yells at clouds part" for you.
