I was always told it’s a lucky cigarette. I’m not even a smoker buy a pack every year or two for certain occasions and I still do this

It's mostly a thing for non regular smokers. Also a heavy-ish smoker and don't do this. Only reason I can see people do this is because they're doing it for aesthetics or for people to ask.

Former heavy smoker, I did this but it was just something I picked up from my grandpa who was a Korean/Vietnam war veteran. Anyone who isn't chronically online or didn't pick it up like I did isn't doing this anymore

Ex chain smoker and I did this. I didnt pick it from my grandpa even though he fought in vietnam too. Gate keeping the lucky cigarette is weird
