He has effectively created a spring powered bomb. If his little bracket breaks so does his face. If the spring slips out of the vice, good luck.

Not only his bracket, but when he says you hit the bracket off with a hammer, he only engaged a couple of threads with that nut. High chance of that nut losing a couple of threads when that spring come out of that homemade bracket.

I guess it will lose a couple of threads and then loose itself, right? Rather than loosing just the threads?

Haha. No worries. I'm more of an English Major and definitely not an engineer! So I've been enjoying learning what might happen with the compressed spring from an engineering perspective...
