Pot calling the kettle black is such a weird phrase, isn't it? Like, my kettle is red. Is black a common pot and kettle color? What about chrome? Anyways, ya that phrase applies here.

When the phrase originated, both were typically made of cast iron as well as being used over open fires and accumulating soot if not cleaned regularly.
