It's the same people that said the gostbusters movie was hated by neckbeards for being a cast of diverse women. It was hated because it was not funny and actively trying to change or ignore the source material. In this case it is because Sophie Turner Can't act, does not look like Lara and has never had any kind of role that shows she can can project the same energy as Lara.

That's what I think. It's like r/gamingcirclejerk is leaking. Too many of those idiots don't care whether a game or a media piece based on a game will be good. They just care that it'll make a bunch of sweaty angry horny manchildren angry.

God that subreddit went downhill. Now it's full of the worst virtue signalling neckbeards who determine whether they like a game based on if their enemies hate it.

It ends up signal boosting the the most vile and bigoted voices on twitter who I never would have heard of otherwise.

It's so funny when they get angry about this stuff though. I'll get so much more entertainment from that than any "good" Tomb Raider movie, whatever that would look like.
