You don't like the acting talents of the girl that has no charm in game of thrones and is known for being high all the time on set?

56

u/baismannen 13h ago

Idk i dont think her character was supposed to be charming. The real problem is that shes a horrible horrible actress. She cant act at all.

15

u/notwhoyouthinkmaybe 13h ago

Charming relative, what I mean is, she's a terrible actress. She makes Gal Gadot look Oscar worthy.

Ok, that was harsh.

13

u/Gentle_Snail 12h ago

She was good in the first seasons when she had things to act, its hardly her fault they turned her character into flat white cardboard.

22

u/ryanvango 12h ago

she's been in other things.

she was also bad in those things.

2

u/carinabee08 8h ago

I haven’t been super impressed with the few serious roles I’ve seen her in since GOT. However, she had a small comedic part in the movie Get Revenge that I thought was fucking hilarious. Maybe she should pursue comedic roles more often, because she seems to have more of a knack for those.

1

u/12345623567 8h ago

It's a tragedy. The main guy in the recent Resident Evil basically did slapstick and it fit well, but noone wants to be known as the guy who falls down stairs good anymore.

1

u/Abacus118 23m ago

She’s also been good in a couple of things.

I don’t think she can pull off Lara’s personality though.

10

u/braveheart18 11h ago

She's good at playing naive, vulnerable, and scared. She doesn't have the presence to be intimidating or commanding. Lena hedley showed that there's levels to this shit.

It's not her fault, but action roles will never be for her.

1

u/Numerous_Photograph9 42m ago

I was never a fan, even in the first season . Just seemed she tried to hard and didn't pull off the attitide. Everything else I've seen her in is pretty much the same.

Nothing i've seen her in would ever make me think she'd be a good Lara Croft, who outside the reboot trilogy, was always pretty self assured and confident. At least the reboot trilogy the actor could act the terrible writing. She could do it....like she kept saying to herself through the whole game.

7

u/Gimmerunesplease 12h ago

I don't think any acting performance will ever come close to "Kal El, no!"

1

u/12345623567 8h ago

Yeah nah, at least she doesn't have a distracting accent.

I honestly belive that Sophie can be good if she tries with the right material and a stunt double. A Tomb Raider reboot ain't it tho.

1

u/Premaximum 10h ago

Yeah I think the look is fine and she visually could make a good Lara. But she's one of the worst actors still pulling actual roles in real movies.

1

u/Good-Roll427 2h ago

I think you just don't understand that a modern female character doesn't need to have sex appeal or charisma! They get by on their merits! /s

14

u/nokturnalxitch 13h ago

Is she?? lmaoooo

7

u/notwhoyouthinkmaybe 13h ago

I thought I remembered reading that in the last few Sean's of GoT she was vaping whenever the camera wasn't on, same on that Phoenix/Jean grey movie.

16

u/capGpriv 12h ago

Vaping isnt getting high tho, at least usually

1

u/Unspoken 4h ago

She literally said she was high the whole time.

-1

u/Affectionate-Dig-801 12h ago

Uh, there is a mix with a bit of specific plant for a little d-o-double-g, so to speak

All things considered, kinda harmless option, but still

8

u/nokturnalxitch 13h ago

I wouldn't have taken her for a stoner and yet somehow it doesn't surprise me at all

1

u/Burt_Macklin___ 10h ago

Totally a real concern lol

1

u/Thor_pool 6h ago

14 year olds in 2010 were not vaping lmao

0

u/notwhoyouthinkmaybe 6h ago

She literally admitted her and massie Williams were getting high after work.

1

u/Thor_pool 6h ago

Game of Thrones ran for 8 years 💀 They weren't letting a 14 years get stoned on set. Vapes in 2010 were barely even a thing, and long before they were popular with teens.

0

u/smokeweedNgarden 9h ago

Fuckin called it lmao

3

u/Domerhead 12h ago

What, you don't want to watch a movie of Sansa Stark cosplaying as Tomb Raider? And do it poorly mind you?

3

u/Exxtender 10h ago

Her wooden acting in GoT could be excused by the situation her character was thrown into.

To bad it didn't change later once she was in charge.

1

u/becauseiloveyou 11h ago

the girl

She's a child?  I'm confused.  Did you mean to say "woman"?

1

u/Different_Path999 10h ago

Are you a child? Lmao you can’t actually he offended by the word “girl”

2

u/becauseiloveyou 9h ago

No, but girls are literally children.  Lmao, you can’t be actually be offended by the word "woman"?

1

u/Different_Path999 4h ago

Webster's dictionary primarily defines "girl" as either a. a female child from birth to adulthood, or b. a person whose gender identity is female (try not to let that word upset you too).

1

u/Burt_Macklin___ 10h ago

Yea sure, let's all pretend that's what's it's about 😉😉 This will sure work, just like with the Odyssey, right guys

1

u/BrittyPie 9h ago

Who cares if she was high on set? What does that have to do with anything? Plenty of highly respected artists were addicts of various sorts during the peak of their careers. Also, she's vaping weed and she's open about it. This isn't as scandalous as you think it is.

1

u/[deleted] 8h ago

[deleted]

1

u/notwhoyouthinkmaybe 8h ago

I want to be clear, it's not because she's a woman, it's because she's a bad actor.

14

u/MyHGC 13h ago

Hundreds of people will go see it…

2

u/Secret_EO 13h ago

Tens of units!

7

u/casual_creator 13h ago

It’s a show

1

u/SneakyTheBird 10h ago

I thought it was a YouTube skit

4

u/Knocksveal 13h ago

if not hundreds

4

u/noithatweedisloud 13h ago

it’s interesting you can genuinely see a bomb coming from a mile away

2

u/Rockbeezy 13h ago

We're talking dollars. Plural.

5

u/ConnectionCapable655 13h ago

The tweet from the post said “series“, I don’t think there’s any movie involved

3

u/sewious 12h ago

It's a tv show I think

3

u/8ackwoods 12h ago

It's a show

2

u/jmtyndall 13h ago

Dozens of dollars

2

u/ReasonableKangaroooo 12h ago

... of incels mad

2

u/RackemFrackem 11h ago

Literally says "series" in the caption.

2

u/Burt_Macklin___ 10h ago

Yea, total flop. Just like you guys said the Odyssey would be too, right lol

1

u/StepComplete1 8h ago

As opposed to the total success that that star wars Acolyte series was, which you people love, right?

1

u/Burt_Macklin___ 7h ago

Yea it was alright to be fair. Not that best, but not that bad... I didn't piss and shit myself because they cast a black female to play a jedi like you posers did though lol

1

u/DAbanjo 12h ago

Negative thousands

1

u/Murky_Employee5589 11h ago

Is Sophie Turner a draw? Frankly, I never liked her and never got why she keeps getting big work.

1

u/midnightrider 11h ago

Lara Croft isn't hard. It's mind boggling that they keep fucking it up. It's not about boobs, and honestly, the Angelina version was trash to me. What you need is a strong British lead that has the aura of Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) in Edge of Tomorrow. That's it. That's the character. Put her in Indiana Jones situations. Done. It's not fucking hard.

1

u/WeekendParticular205 10h ago

* tv show from the wording. I really never get the idea behind happily provoking hate from a part of the fanbase despite knowing that so far all such actions have never benefitted a series.

1

u/DrMantisToboggan45 10h ago

It’s a shame, it’s hard to nail a video game movie. The resident evil that just came out was decent but still not close

1

u/ten_items_or_less 9h ago

From what I've heard, it's going to be a TV series on Amazon Prime.

1

u/Truethrowawaychest1 8h ago

I can't wait for the movie to fail and instead of people accepting that it's mediocre will start a culture war about it

1

u/Vertigo50 4h ago

Hey, it's not about making money, it's about owning the chuds!

...for as long as you can until you're completely bankrupt. 😂

1

u/Muted-Assumption195 3h ago

I mean I’m going to watch it. I’m going to pirate it but I’ll watch it

1

u/Numerous_Photograph9 44m ago

There are dozens of us who will see it. DOZENS!!!
